Since I've installed programs on my phone, i've noticed my windows folder takes forever to populate now. Actually about 3-5 minutes. Is there any specific reason this happens and has anyone else experienced it?

I have installed currently:
Google Maps
Opera Mobile
Spb Backup
PocketCM Keyboard .12
RvBCrS HTC Streaming Media
Microsoft Live Search

I put Google Maps and Opera Mobile on my 2 Gig Sandisk storage Card, everything else is installed on the internal storage.

ive never heard of it taking that long to open the windows folder. takes me like 5 seconds max..... not sure why it would be taking that long to load up for you. try a soft reset and see if that speeds it up if not you might have to do a hard reset and reinstall but make sure you back up your contacts.

Yeah I had to do hard reset before, I already backed up my contacts from the last hard reset (beamed them one by one to the pc then copied em all to my SD card - wish I had outlook)

I haven't had any luck finding out what program is making it slow down. It could be a faulty file that one of them is adding to the windows folder that makes explorer have to time out on before it finishes populating, at least that's what it seems like is going on.

i have over 30 apps and ga,es and over 20 of them are installed to the main memory and i can open my windows folder in 4.73 seconds.(i times it lol) so its not summtin normal that would have to be dealt with. dont know what it could be unless you dleeted a file in there from the rom itself and it keeps wanting to search and find that file even though it may not be an important one.

I did a hard reset and I only installed PCM Keyboard, Opera Mobile, Google Maps. Windows Folder opens in 3 seconds now. I'm begining to think it's a combination of things. Maybe it was Audio Manager or Streaming Media giving me problems.

If either of you could tell me if you have any of the stuff installed that I did (or don't have installed) lemme know so I can pinpoint what's giving me trouble.

I put everything back on except HTC Audio Manager and HTC Streaming Media and it doesn't slow down the windows folder anymore. I wonder which of the two was making it slow down, but I don't miss em. I never go to youtube on my phone so i have no need for streaming media, and Audio Manager isn't much different from WMP, seeing as i couldn't get it to trim files OR save my ringtones in the right place. I'll just beam em over the bluetooth from my laptop.

not sure which would be doing that too you since i use the audio manager without flaws my guess would be that it would have to be the streaming media package. glad you got it to open up in a timely matter

I put streaming media back on, and it didn't slow down again. weird. I think it might be a mix between the two htc programs. how many diff. versions of audio manager and streaming media are there? their may just between certain versions.
