guys I really need help. I posted a thread on ppcgeeks and could not get any help. It seems like the people here seem to know this phone pretty good.
Ok here is the problem and I will try to explain this the best I can.
When I am moving around in opera mini4 using JBED I notice that sometimes if I press the up, down or right button my cursor or highlighted text cursor will just fly up to the top of the page. I don't mean the cursor in desktop view. This is in mobil view only. This happens in games too and I don't know what is causing it, can it be the d pad sticking or can it be a software issue. This really seems like keys sticking but it's not that I doubt this would happen on two phones in a row both new
I went to a store and of course they said its nothing and there is nothing wrong with the phone or d pad and then offered a exchange for a refurb phone. I just paid 350 I don't think i want a refurb just yet.
Let me know if anyone can help.:sad6:

i would switch from JBED to Midlet Manager for your java cause midlet manager has a lot less glitches for that kind of thing. I run opera 4 and a bunch of different games and have no d-pad issues. if you local search these forums for midlet manager you will find a link to the download. Good Luck, hope this answered your question.

I orginally. had the midlet manager and it was doing the same thing so I switched to jbed. I do have an idea and I dont know if it could be my button setting but Im not sure. this is really getting annoying especially when I fast scroll by pressing the right part of the dpad

have you tried messing with the dpad configuration through the program. something in there might be doubled or causing a problem.

could there be software that could conflict with windows that would cause this. I went to the opera website and noticed there was two people with the same problem with other phones. The problem is nobody had any idea why this was happening.
here is a list of what I have installed
picsel browser
spb backup
live search
sprint tv
vito fun contact
pocketcm keyboard
ultimate search
iphone touch skin dialer
cube config
spb calculator
phm registry editor
htc audio manager
htc customizer
tcpmp
quick menu
vtap
psshutxp
cloudyfa esmertec jbed
games
ff race
bejewled 2
micropool
super g stunt
firehawk
not sure if any of these could cause the problem

its not going to be the games and spb backup has been known to cause problems but nit in this case. the only way to really find out would be to do a hard reset and install all the stuff one by one and test them and when you install the next program and it malfunctions you found the culprate. thats why i use sprite backup and do a backup before i install a new program.

yeah that is what I am working on right now. did the back up and my pim backup and I will try that tomorrow. I am trying to use opera the desktop view right now to see if it will do it then. I guess if it does i will have no choice to do the hard reset.

yeah dude, just sync your contacts and important stuff to your desktop then do a hard reset and install just the midlet manager or whatever you wanna use and install the java stuff first then install the programs one by one like dash said. It should work, I have almost every program that you have listed and have no issues with mine at all. I am assuming it is a registry tweak you made seeing as though you do have a registry I am assuming you use it :P Good Luck.

what do you use for web. Just curious. I didn't like picsel and definetly don't like pie or pie plus just too slow.
I did notice that when I unchecked the visual effect tab box that it didn't do it as much but I am learning to just use the desktop view instead of mobile view because it doesn't do it when I set it that way. Really weird

i use pie plus 2.2 and picsel browsers .. i love picsel browser and the pieplus 2.2 isnt slow at all for me since i have the REV A rom on my touch. but this isnt the place to talk about browsers if you would like to further discuss with everyone on the site about browsers make a new thread and that can be done. thanks

yeah not trying to do that. I was just wondering. Well I will just wait and see if anyone comes up with a solution to this problem so mobile view will work without this issue. My guess though is opera will probably come out with an update since it came out before the touch and there may be some slight issues arising from it.

starting to think this is a jbed problem. I tried just using opera mini 4 with the java platform that it came with and that worked except for all the lock ups but I did notice that it was not bouncing around like jbed and intent did. how can this happen with two different phones but no one else has the problem. Can someone tell me what there exact setup is like which jbed you use and the exact opera mini you use and what settings. this would really help.

yeah i use intent midlet manager though I have had no issues with it, they way i did it from midlet manager once the midlet manager loaded up I wen tto Menu > Install > Browse which opened up my IE browser then i went to http://operamini.com which redirected me to http://mini.opera.com it comes up with opera mini 3.1.2 but if you scroll down there is a link to Try the new Opera Mini 4...click that then download high memory version and it will all install for you. Hope this helps

giving it a try now. I had a different version of the intent manager maybe that was causing it. don't know now but will post if this fixes it. Have my fingers crossed. thanks for the help by the way.
