not sure if its just me or if its an opera thing. i put both opera mini files on my phone the .jab and .jar and installed them but it didnt give me an icon in programs. i have to go to file explorer everytime and run it from there. also everytime i load it, it asks me if i want to install, or launch.. is there a way to fix this, and do i need both files?

Dash do you just use IE? opera seems to be too much of a pain, unless i did something wrong.

I had the same problem with Opera Mini (version 4)....
Basically what happens is that Opera Mini Installs under the Java on the phone...
in order to launch it you have to open programs -> Java (the Red E) and then look under applications... viola! :yahoo:

When I first got my phone I tried to use Opera Mini, but I found that because it ran on Java, it made my phone freeze. Download Opera 8.* for WM5/6 from here and that should work a lot better. i like Opera because it is faster than IE, but be aware that it does not support flash. (not that IE does either.) opera looks nicer too. The only thing that annoys the crap out of me is that Opera forces you to use the little qwerty password keyboard whenever you type in any field, like the search box in google, so you won't be able to space or backspace. Its good though if you are going to a site that you can just click on links. hope this helps.

it shouldnt freeze it i never had that problem but a few thing i would recomend are:
1)uninstall and reinstall
2) switch to a GOOD browser not opera mini
3) get a better java emulator (or whateva you whanna call it)

Matter of opinion man ;) i like a lot of features of opera mini, definitely a lot to offer, I don't use it anymore myself, but it had a lot more compatibility than any other browser.
To answer the question about opera mini locking up the device. I would just try a different java emulator like tigerz said..

for all those having problems w/freezing issues on opera mini....you NEED TO INSTALL Esmertec Jbed 20080222. install this java first and then install opera mini. i have used it and it runs perfect...never had any issues or let alone freezes on my touch. and its fast as hell. no point of having opera w/o this Jbed....but im gonna try my new skyfire but i will have this as back up on my touch. :)
just uninstall opera first and then install this java...it will overwrite the original one and then install opera. then go into java and you will see opera mini. if you decide later to uninstall opera mini...just go into the java program and there's an option there for uninstall opera.
hope this helps
