View Full Version : Touch Not Waking From Sleep To Ring For Calls

My HTC Touch will not wake up from sleep mode to ring when I'm getting a call. All I get is the missed call and/or voicemail notification after I manually wake the phone up, which could be up to an hour later if I don't think to check it.

The phone plays a half ring or so when you turn it on from sleep manually, like it is just then getting the call.

This is really frustrating. No one, even when I went to the Sprint store, seems to be able to offer a solution besides, "wait for HTC to release an OS update."

I figured if anyone knew about this problem and how to fix it, it'd be you guys.

Thanks in advance for the help.

(Text messages act the same way as calls, the notification and sound only play once the phone is manually waken from sleep mode)

yup this is a known problem on certain touch phones. this is only found in the early releases f the touch. if you get a newer release of the phone you will not have this problem. try to explain this to sprint and and see what they say,

Well I also got a Touch on December 29th and it does the same thing. I dont think its an early release, I got in at the sprint store. So far the only thing I have been able to do it disable the sleep feature but I dont know if that will affect the screen since its always on. I love this phone and I dont want to get rid of it but i have 30 days to return or exchange the phone do you suggest i exchange it for a new one?

yes i would try to get a different one. even though it is in store that you got it theres still a chance that it could be the original release version

also i have noticed slide2unlock can cause the same exact problem so if you use S2U try removing it and see how that goes....

I read somewhere else that it does this when your battery is less than 30% charged. It does it on mine as well. No solution yet.

upp....sorry bro, i made a mistake, here is the info, Start--settings--then @ the botton of the screen select "SYSTEM", then look for/click on "POWER", @ the bottom of the screen select "ADVANCED", now uncheck both boxes and hit "OK" on top of the screen, that should solve your problem, just to be sure the changes were made do a soft reset

Ok so I had the same problem. I was on the phone with sprint for 2 hours and finally fixed it. It is definatly a software problem but can be fixed with a factory reset. Just make sure you back up all your contacts and programs. AND MAKE SURE YOU DO IT WHILE ON THE PHONE WITH SPRINT CAUSE YOU HAVE TO ENTER CODES AND SUCH!!!!!!!!! Any other questions feel free to message me!!!!!! Thumbs up!!! Th3rMu5:yahoo:
