Think of it like a new os for a computer. People make clean roms which are roms that dont have anything installed on them except for the os. I was running the rev A rom. Im prob going to get the wm 6.1 and rev a rom soon.

Flashing a custom rom can be a headache if you don't know what your doing. It involves unlocking your phone to except after market roms. If you do so just remember to follow instructions to the T. im currently running wm6.1 build 5047. just released mere hrs ago.keep in mind unlocking and installing a aftermarket rom.Voids warranty and sprint cs will not give you support for it.So if you have a issue your on your own.Not like you can go to your local sprint store to fix.You can however relock the phone and then install stock rom if phone has issues to then get service.hope this helps clarify for you.

hit the thank you button.

Thanks for the info...it was helpful but I just have a couple more questions. First of all I have the verizon xv6800(similar to sprints mogul) and I was wondering what would be the best rom to install on it. Im not sure if this matters but I plan on having alot of programs installed on my phone so if there is a rom or application that can help speed up my phone (loading programs and things like that)

some Verizon users have reported using no2chems sprint rom without any issues. You just have to change prl to match carrier. Also it would have sprint start up animation.although this can be changed. If your nervous with this process.I would say use DcD's rom's.He actually makes one for each carrier. So there is a Verizon one from him.No2chem sticks to sprint. But it can be done with his as well.I've read a few articles of people who have done it.I myself am a sprint customer so i haven't had that problem.

thanks bro...I appreciate the help. When I download the rom do I just install it on my phone or is there something else that I need to do?
