Hey AMJ's, I am from new york city and I am planning a trip in 2 weeks about 3 hours away from here, The place im going to has no sprint service what so ever, I only get service putting my mogul on roam. My question is being that sprint nav requires data to download maps and being that since i get none where im driving to, is there something I can do to get sprint nav to work? does it work while roaming?I dont wanna be lost in the woods lol

yeah on roaming it should work without problems and all since you will prolly be hitting and running into verizon towers which are rev a capable.......... so it should work but roaming cna be expensive so be careful.... also you could use an app like yahoo go 2.0 and thats has a feature like mapquest that you could use.

Yea I know about roaming, I put roaming on my plan for 5 extra so im good, yea I do pick up verizon towers up there, but before I did the rev a update I still couldnt connect to the web up there but i could text, wait do u think its worth downloadin the garmin mobile app that you have on this site b/c I hear it saves the maps on the storage card so I ouldnt need the sat connection?

you will still need the gps satellite connection though to read where you are on the maps and where you are going.

i use the one that connects via suction to glass or has round padded sticker to put on the dashboard. i love it and keeps my mogul in plain view and can still be charged...... i got mine from the local sprint store they usually run round 40 bucks for a good one...
