does anybody else have this problem in vista?

im having a problem getting windows mobile device center to open. it worked the first day i installed it but now when i click on the icon it wont open.

have you tried to reinstall or use the quick launch icon in the lower right???? i use vista ultimate and have never had this proble. you can laways uninstall and reinstall and see if that helps.

thats wierd cuz im using vista ultimate too and i tried uninstalling WMDC 6 and installing 6.1 and uninstalling 6.1 then installing 6 again nothing worked. i tried every WMDC icon. im sure it should open without the phone plugged in cuz it opened the first time i installed it without a phone. does your WMDC launch without you plugging in your phone?

I had this problem when i first got my phone (christmas)...i had to use the windows XP PC upstairs...but advenutally i got sick and tired of aving to go upstairs whenver i wanted to do something to my phone..

i searched the internet, and i forget what i founf but it was a nice little file that made it run with windows vista.

i will try my darndest to find it for you...either by findin the link ( it is out there so try yourself aswell)

or find the file in my computer.

Found it!, this is what worked for me. so i hope it works for you aswell....uninstall everything you have done before installing this.

this been an issue about that before on one of the other thread a member was having issue connection to sync and the conclusion to that was the firewall issue active synce use port 330 i believe can't remember now the exact port.But i asked the member to shut down the firewall and try to redo the active sync, i guess try that to see if that works.

this may sound stupid, but, have you tries going in to the program file on your pc and see where the windows mobile device center is then right click the exe file and then click run as administrator...... lemme know if that works... if so hit that rep!

Well mine is plugged in and i am havng the same problem, after i istalled 6.1.. If i plug in my touch it will work but not on my mugule.. Any jugjestion i tried everything you guys said so far no luck..

check your pins and make sure that they arent bent in the phone.... that seems to be a huge problem.

Its not the phone, i think its vista.. I went ustairs to my Xp computer and everything worked fine..

huh ummmmmmmmmmm i truthfully dont have any clue why it would do that. almost sounds like the drivers for the mogul got uninstalled and for some reason it wont reinstall them.

no roms dont effect the way it connects to activesync..... otherwise flashing to a rom that doesnt connect would be useless.

I have the same problem with 2 windows vista machines..disable'd firewall, installed windows 6.1 update and phone will not sync. I haven't tried it on an xp machine. but my HTC Tilt will not sync at all. I just got the phone yesterday and can't figure out why it won't sync. I'm gonna see if I can track down drivers or something. this is silly.

havent had a problem with mine at all....vista ultimate here.....i havent had issues with vista much at all....even tho its a friggin pain in the ass as far as resource hog!!!

Mobilevista and MobilevistaWAD's

I must say it looks great specially on youtube.

I did everything on the instructions but I believe that maybe I missed something.

Yes you take out the mobile vista portrait and landscape and put into themes\desktop. You really don't need to do anything with the mobile vista for this to work but heres what you do....

Unzip MobileVista

- mobile-Vista-welcome (Cab) -> install on my mobile device
- mobile-vista-calculator-skin (Cab) -> install on my mobile device
- MobileVista.tsk -> Copy paste to *root*/Windows/ and seting as today theme
- MobileVistaWMP11 (folder) -> Copy paste to *root*/ProgramFiles/WindowsMediaPlayer/
- MobileVistaWisbar (folder) -> Copy Paste to *root*/Program Files/Lakeridge/Wisbar Advance 3/

then thats it. It should work after you have done everything I have said here.

mobile vista portrait and landscape

It says to put into themes\desktop

Maybe it's because I have vista ultimate on my pc and 6.1 professional on my Mogul

but I don't see themes or desktop inside my mogul or in my device->windows

I also believe I have the latest sync and when I hit browse I se the same but no desktop or themes.

Where exactly do I put those two folders, mobile vista portrait and landscape?

By the way each of these folder have a bunch of files in them.

Do I need the wisebar that is required, or can I put these folder where they need to go?

If I do need wisebar, is there a link I can dowloaded from without it being a trial version.
