Hello everyone this is my first real post here since finding the site after watching Dash and Tigerz, vids on youtube [great stuff btw]. I have one burning question that I don't really see the answer for [Yes I am new but I have been looking and reading on this site as well as the other ones I have encountered.] I am as we speak attempting to purchase a HTC Touch/Vogue on ebay and what im wondering is.....
Can I change a sprint or telus carrier to Bell stock software fully. The reason I ask is I live in Manitoba and MTS really does not support the touch but they are willing to allow the use of the Bell version on MTS - BUT all the Bell Touch's on ebay sell for more $$$ than the same phone Sprint US version. SO If I could buy the sprint one and change it to the Bell rom and then have it programed by MTS that would be sweet and save me some $$$. And would the ESN information that is currenty on a phone matter or would it need to be a vaild Bell ESN do you think? [I'm not talking about a dirty ESN I just mean if the Sprint phone had a valid sprint ESN and I changed everything to Bell would the ESN work? or would they say it is no good for Bell as it was a Sprint one?] Any insight or help on this would be welcome. Thank you in advance for taking the time to respond. I'm sure you all will get to know me after sometime here, I am a freelance graphic artist and skin forum software and I plan to apply my skills to skinning the phone interfaces once I learn how.

with CDMA you have to be careful.... i would go and ask them if you were to get a sprint phone persay with the bell rom would you activate it?????? if they say yes gop for it and unlock the phones bootloader and flash that rom on over...... but make sure with them since som e providers (most) will not allow an outside phone to be activated unless your through cricket of course.... so double check with them and if they say yes your good to go.

Thanks for the quick response Dash. U da man. I kinda figured that would probably be the verdict they have already pretty much stated that they will only work with the Bell version. [Its because they are kinda partners] but I was hopein I could fool them but The esn seems to be the stumbler. I have also considered going in and getting one of the MTS crappy phones and swaping the esn to the touch, This I think would be possible but I will probably just pay the extra for a Bell phone and stay "somewhat" on the up and up. :kez_17:
