you can try changing the com port on the gps settings to com3.. Also try to retrieve a gps singnal and then run google maps!

once you set up the com port in your GPS options just go into google maps and there is an option in there that says "use GPS" or something like that or "My Location" it will auto initialize your GPS if you have it set up right
