looking to do this reg edit on my htc6800
***
Increasing Speaker Volume
Try increasing the value in:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/ControlPanel/Phone/"Vol"
I cranked it up to 95000 (original value is 65535 and that increase the volume substantially, I don't know what it will max out at or how it will effect battery power (I don't even care, as long as the volume is louder).
***
I've never edited a registry value and don't want to mess up my phone. I've looked at a few programs and wondering if there is a suggestion for an easy reg edit program.

I pulled up the 'vol' registry and it is giving me a 26214 value in DWORD Data
in the base box:
the radio button is selected for Dec
per the tweak to increase the 65535 value to 95000 : is my 26214 value the number I should increase? and what is a reasonable value?
has anybody tried this with the Alltel 6800 values?

if that value is listed under vol, then that should be the right one. try it and see. if it doesn't work, just revert back to the old one

I'm wondering what value I should use:
monkey said his starting value was 65535 and he increased to 95000
With my value starting at 26214 - I can't imagine I would want to go up to 95000
should I just tweak it up slowly? say 30000 and see if I notice a difference?

yes your best bet is to go up gradually and see what it does..... you just dont want to overdue it or under do it.

Dash:
Cranked it up slowly to 50000 and don't notice a change - am I doing something wrong?
How fast does it take effect? if I am listening to a song and edit the vol registry to 50000 and save - should I notice the change immediately?

i did this a while back, set it to 80000, saved and soft reset, worked great, could walk out the room and still hear the song good.

easy download schnapps advanced config. go to battery and power management turn all of the battery save options on aka enable sd memory power management, activesyn management, irsir1 power management, pptp1, l2tp1. then you want to do an active sync trick which is in the list. aka
open up active syn, add a new server source, fill out all fields it don't matter. after the new source is added click menu then you will see schedule can now be highlighted. open it and change the 2 drop downs to manual, close out then click menu > connections, here delete the server source you have made.
that should eliminate active syn starting on its own.
i have also taken a further precaution on mine and downloaded quickmenu. it is a highly advanced start menu for your ppc. well if you open quick menu then go to quickmenu options you will have an option to force quit activesnc. this will pretty much close activesync everytime it opens.
these precautions i have done to mine almost doubled my battery life and hopefully it will do the same for you.

I dont think you understand, I am really an idiot when it comes to techy stuff. :soldier: i appreciate you reaching out to me but i dont have a clue how to do all these things. im sure they r very simple tasks to achieve but i cant even get started because i dont know where to find that stuff. for example, i have the mogul 6800, so where do i find that "battery and power management" u speak of???
