I have a 6800 with the 420 Take 2 rom running. As of late, I've had problems connecting my phone to usb/activesync. My phone indicates that it is charging, but no usb device is detected, and the little green wheel does not start spinning...I've done a factory reset. Hard and soft resets....Don't know what else to try...I feel like the last time it sync'd, i had to jiggle the cable around on the phone end...I've been very lax about using regular usb cables, not the special shaped one that comes with it...Have I physically damaged my phone to the point that it will no longer sync?

The pins where the USB cable plugs in are VERY sensitive. Jiggling the correct USB is not a great idea, much less jiggling one in there that's not supposed to be there. More than likely you've damaged it or skewwed it enough to prevent sync. When I had a similar issue, I took it in to get repaired and they were able to get it to work again for a while, but eventually I had to replace the phone. Good luck.

like helmet said you damaged the pins inside of your phone.... the phone came wieth some splitters that you should be using when charging and syncing to prevent the pins from getting damaged. there is no true way to fix this and your best bet would be going through your service provider and see if they can get you a new usb or replace the phone.... hope you have insurance on the beast.

If you are with sprint just call it in first but dont claim your insurrance but just ask what to do. They tell you to take it to the sprint store tech in your area and more then likely you will get a new phone. ( they really cannot repair the charge port because it is soldered to the circuit .make sure you back up every thing on a memory card )

My Mogul does this with activesync on and off and there is nothing wrong with my pins....I hate activesync it always does this. The green thing will spin then say that it can't connect. What should I do?
