Ok So I'm a bit of Noob at this i managed to unlock the phone and upload the kaos ROM but when i turn the phone on it stays at the radio screen. i am assuming i need to update the radio first. but try as i might i just cant seem to find a download of a newer radio. also i am worried i have the wrong hardware as my ROM versions and radio are much different that what has been posted. although it may be because i am Canadian on Bell. any advice/ assistance would be great.. i have tried searching with the green search button and read as many tutorials as i can get my hands on but am falling short.
Please Help

*edit*
I have returned the phone to default Rom: 2.17.666.2 and radio: 1.59.10A

why bro you could have got the radio from the second post of the kaos **** sprint rom and than hard reset and take the battery out lie the instructions say and you would have been golden.

did you go to start/settings/connections/connections and than go to internet and than click get settings than wait for 2 minutes (not letting screen go to sleep) and than soft reset it and try it? and also why didnt you flash the bell rom first since the newest roms including take 5 are masde off of the bell rom radio wise :>

the bell rom available on the HTC website is 2.17.666.2 which i already had and it had the old radio aswell which is why i used the sprint rom the only 3.09 rom i found was for the HTC touch so i was leary about using it on the 6800.

also having trouble locating the "get settings" button

don't be "leary" about using a different rom on ur phone.... just DON'T! lol... only use a rom for YOUR model phone. idk bout moving backwards, but you could consider reflashing the latest stock bell rom, then flashing the latest radio, then move to the kaos roms.

but wait until D/\SH or someone comments on this... because I haven't gone through this, so idk if this is bad lol. just a suggestion

there's just radios, and roms with radios... i dont see anything about a specific carrier.

whats the number your phone calls to connect to your vision service. like for sprint its #777. You can go into the connections from the settings and edit the current connection. then enter the number its supposed to call and name it correctly. But dont mess with it if your not sure of the number.

I reloaded the current bell ROM and can connect to the network again and the number it dials is #777 but i can not see any other settings to tell it to talk to bell or any other network.

i tried to set up a new CDMA network connection using the same parameters the the data connection uses but it asks me for a user name and password which i don't know

it says its connecting to sprint but its actually connecting to bell...they use the same number (#777) it may say sprint but as long as it connects then ur good...its not like sprint can hit you with a bill or anything

so i started from scratch and installed the 2.whatever rom from the HTC website. then i finally located a radio only rom which is 3.45.30 or something. then i flashed the Kaos ROM and everything works great. (although i actually use MSN for my contacts list but that was easy enough to fix.) now my problem is i am assuming with my settings but my GPS does not work. as i type that it has finally locked on to a satellite. however I am only showing 2 on google maps. i d-loaded the MASPware GPSmeter v.4.17 so i could try some diagnostics. with that program i was able to find and track up to 22 satellites but would not lock on to any for more than a intermittant blip. i have done the regedit hack and changed the value to 4 as instructed and gone through a process i found on http://forum.xda-developers.com. i have searched to the point i dont know where to look anymore. so anyone have any great ideas or have i actually stumped the junkies?

well, what i would do is this: flash back to the official stock ROM for your carrier. Then make sure you have the latest ROM for that carrier. Then I would run the UNLOCKER For the Custom ROM you are going to flash too. Then RUN the CUSTOM ROM. Make sure you take the battery out after the flash and HARD RESET so that the correct settings for gps, battery, etc. take effect. Hope this helps.....

i actually did exactly that which got me to where i am now at a partial working state. today i had better sucess with the gps. i have been able to lock on to up to 4 satellites on the GPS program but Google still seems slow. and doesn't work if i am moving.

sounds like you have something totally wrong with your phone..... are you sure that you unlocked the phone before you made the flash to a custom rom?
