So I was really sweating a no boot situation on my Brand Spanking new Touch Diamond
To hard reset and restore current ROM apps and config:
Hold Power button, Volume Down Button, Enter Button (the one in the middle of the directional pad) and use stylus to depress the Red Reset button behind the back cover.
No this did not erase my 4gig storage
I kid you not I actually had to hold the thing steady with my nose and two hands to do this.
I found a few forum posts in various places that claim you do not need to hold the Power button, but believe me after more then 10 attempts and nearly crapping my pants... I can assure you... that you MUST hold down the Power button.
Here's how I got in the situation in the first place.
I was "Clearing storage" to test out some hacks and though I would see what the phone ran like without the Sprint customizations. I am used to (on my Mogul) simply hitting reset at the prompt "Customizations , It will automatically customize your device in 3 Seconds.".
I my case this reset the phone as I expected but upon next startup the customization ran again, so I let it run thinking that I will not be able to stop it, But after the customizations were done, the phone restarted to the Touch Diamond screen with the version info and did not progress for over 15 minutes.
Thats when I got concerned. I am trying to keep this thing in working condition in case I want to return it when the Diamond Pro comes out.
Needless to say I don't think the Sprint store reps would be too keen on taking back a non booting phone.
So far I haven't seen a Stock Sprint ROM to flash back to. Luckily it all worked out.
Mental note don't stop the customizations.
