So, I just reflashed to Kaos take 5 from the manilla 2dmogul rom, and everytime i try to sync my contacts, activesync gets hung up saying waiting for network after it says its syncing for about 30 seconds. I would think that maybe this was a problem with the rom, but it was doing it with the previous rom also. If anyone has seen this problem posted before, please provide a link. I've searched and couldnt find anything. Any help aprecciated.

Nope, no go. I completely shutdown my firewall and its still no good. When i go to the status, it gives me an error code of 0x80072EFF. Absolutly no idea what that means, but i figured I would throw it out there. And code....LETS GO PHILLIES!!!!

Do you have another computer around that you can try? Save the contacts file and put it on the other computer. That way you can atleast eliminate one variable.
