After MUCH research and even more research I have finally found a work around / solution to the auto correct / auto complete problem that exists on the FUZE and Touch Pro.
To document for everyone I made a list below of everything I did to finally make this work.
Notes: I have a FUZE and mainly use the actual physical keyboard and not the onscreen keyboard. If you have a FUZE or Touch Pro you know that T9 SUCKS and does not function the way it should and similar to the traditional and standard "Word Correction" feature you have on your normal PC computer. You have NO WAY to make simple additions to the auto correct list like when you type "i" it automatically changes the word to "I" or typing "jan" automatically becomes "January" or any other million auto correct texts you want to add yourself.
1) I Disabled T9 completely by installing the cab found at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2914474&postcount=8 . After installing this cab the T9 button no longer worked.
2) I changed to "Keyboard" as my default onscreen keyboard. You MUST DO THIS and can no longer use the Full QWERTY or other keyboards. If you like those other keyboards then this will not work because they use the existing T9 word lists.
3) I then did a soft reboot.
4) Using Total Commander I went into Windows and then to the autocorrect.0409,txt file and tried to edit it using TC. I was able to add something I wanted, but UNABLE TO SAVE the file with the changes (got "Error, could not create file!". It would not let me save this file even using Total Commander.
5) Using Active Sync and then Explore I navigated to the file and copied it to my desktop. I changed the file on my desk top and then tried to drag and drop it to the phone files, but again it said I could not upload the new file with the changes.
6) I went back into Total Commander and navigated to the file again and checked the properties. It WAS NOT set to read only, so it should be allowing me to save the new file, but it is not.
7) I then took a chance and installed an old program I remembered that worked for older phones called DictMgr at http://mobile-sg.com/software/?p=DictMgr&platform=ppc . This program says it does not work with our version of WM, BUT I remembered that it did allow me to edit the autocorrect.0409.txt file. So I reinstalled the cab again for this program on my Fuze
8) Once installed I opened up the DictMgr program and launched the Word Corrector part of the program which did open. It looks exactly like the traditional word replacement entry screen you see on your PC. SEE ATTACHED PICTURE.
9) I added a test word and auto change and hit save. It allowed me to make the change and required a soft reboot, which I did.
10) After the reset I tried a test email and INCREDIBLY THIS WORKED!
I am VERY positive right now about this working so far.
Some other Feedback/Notes:
1) I use MyMobileR so when connected to my PC I can view my phone screen on my desktop. This makes entering all the auto correct words I want MUCH easier since I can use my normal keyboard.
2) I entered as MANY as I could at one time because a soft reset is required each time you save the file.
3) I have started entering all the basic ones like
i --> I
monday --> Monday
mon --> Monday
tuesday --> Tuesday
tues ---> Tuesday
(and all the rest of the days)
jan --> January
feb --> February
(and all the rest of the months)
4) on the onscreen keyboard I did go to the Touch Input Setting and check all options. See attached image.
5) I also went to the Options-->Word Completion Tab and checked "Enable Auto Correct. See attached image.
Everyone, this SEEMS to be a real fix for this issue I am happy to report. I will report back more as I have had more time to play with it.
To DASH and the other admins - you might want to move this to another thread where others with the newer version of WM can see this info. So far this solution IS working. :)
