If you want to upgrade your mogul and get the pro because you are experiencing problems with it go to this link and follow the directions. I did and i'm waiting for it right now, $0 bucks out the door for me!

It will cost you nothing if you have TEP insurance, if you don't then i think its $55 bucks, not sure.. let me know how it goes for you guys.

Yeah it works did it this morning on my Mogul lol , they didnt offer me a Touch Pro but they did offer me a Diamond for 50 bucks which you can't beat....

I would'nt raise hell with them lol , just have to tell why your phone dont work and they will replace really no questions asked.

nah i already got my touch pro, i'm gonna raise hell cause i had the mogul and jumped through all of the hoops to get my pro for a discount. I ended up paying $300 and just got my phone literally four days ago. So i'm gonna have a little chat with them and see if I can get me a refund.

They are getting the phone through Asurion, though I don't know if the sprint stock and the asurion stock come from the same place

Awww Man! I just took my Mogul to the sprint store in Milwaukee because it would no longer sync and they gave me a new Mogul because they were still in stock. I guess that what I get for not visiting the site.

I checked a few days ago because I had a problem with my Mogul. They said they were out of stock of the Mogul and Out of stock of the Touch Pro. They are offering the touch diamond for now, unless you want to be put on the wait list for another Mogul.
My brother has the Mogul aswell, but he fought a little harder and they told him they were going to send him a Touch Pro but he has to wait a couple of weeks to get it. I couldnt wait so I ended up getting the Diamond. We both have insurance on our phones so it only cost $50 each. Im using my Diamond right now. Its ok, id rather have the Touch Pro cuz of the keyboard but oh well. I cant wait that long....

well that's awesome for you guys and everyone with SPRINT, but not all of us have Sprint, I'm with Alltel. I'm guessing Alltel doesn't provide this option? I have insurance and I think it's a deductible of $50 bucks. Will do some checking, but if anyone else has Alltel and has any info regarding them and their policies, please advise.

So yeah good thing I call for my Mogul yesterday cause today I made it toast. Getting ready forgot i left in on the tale in the bathroom fell into the toilet. So now dont feel so bad about sending ii in for a crack now it has a real problem Lmao.......

That little pouch thingy they have for the pro sucks. I prefered the magnetic connection one that came with the mogul. This damn thing is velcrow. WTF?!?!? I just got into a slight jog for a second one day and my pro that i paid out the azz for jumped right on out (the velcrow doesn't even attach anymore) and instead of just landing on the concrete, instead it lands on my forward swinging foot. So now i have drop kicked my pro across the cement parking lot and it cracks the screen permanently disables my gps antennae and screws with my sound quality. I just paid over 3 or 4 hundred for this phone plus activation plus my monthly services plus for full insurance and because they consider a cracked screen cosmetic damage i have to pay a 50 dollar deductable. HELL NO!!!! I tried this out and a cracked screen was one of the options that i could choose for why my phone is defective. Now i have a new (or possibly refurbished) pro on its way via UPS overnight shipment for absolutely free (also thanks to the insurance). I appreciate the posting bro. Excellent looking out!!!!

No they do not last time i sent in my Mogul is was completely modded custom rom everything they didnt say a thing to me , matter a fact people inside the store where playing with it lmao

if you do a search there are a whole bunch of threads on here that have the information. There are a couple posted by D/\sh that go through all of the required steps. Might not work if you don't have sprint but its definitely worth a shot. Just be prepared to spend a few hours on the phone with your company. So I have been using my Vogue for the past month or so, so I reactivated my mogul to try this, and it says I can't because my device has not been active for 30 days.... Annoying. I had used it for almost a year and I just used my Touch for the last month. So now I guess I have to use my Mogul for 30 days and try this again??? I hope it still works by then.... :sad_mini:


Wonder if I call or email they can override it..... Prolly not?

DAMN!!!!! I was THIS ------><------- close to having the Pro sent to me but Puerto Rico isnt in the state options in the shipping info!!! i checked the billing address option but it still doesnt register PR and without it i cant complete my form!!

Wnat can i do??

this worked for me once i found out alltel was not replacing the moguls with moguls, make sure you have insurance, there is a sticker under the battery that turns red when you get it wet, dab some water on it to turn it red, take it in, say you dropped it in water, should be covered under insurance, tell them you want equal replacement, accept nothing less than touch pro, threten to cancle your contract if you have to, even talk to manger. you should only have to pay the deductable which in my case was like 90 bucks. Dont deal with assuron on the phone, go into the store, assuron will give you the run around and offer lesser of a phone for replacement. worked for me and got the pro the same day. hope it works for you

Thanks and keeps up posted on that... us touch owners would like to know if theres any new development on our end of things... I just tried it, but i looks like all I can get is another (refurbished) touch... I geuss because they still have stock left of that or something?.. But when i had called sprint about it, they told me the same thing...

Problem with that is that with Sprint, one of the conditions listed is that it has NOT been exposed to liquid.

a close friend of mine works as a phone tech for sprint. my hardware call button stopped working so they sent me a refurbished mogul. the blue shift button did not work so he made a phone call to get me a new mogul. all theY had were touch pros. i had a pro for the past 4 days, completely free of charge!!

I'd wait a couple days and then try again. Some people are reporting the same thing and some are still reporting success. You could also try going into the sprint store and seeing if they have any touch pros in stock and see if they do the exchange for you in store since they are out of stock online. It probably won't work but you can try

Well, I am very happy for all the Sprint customers that are finding that this works for them. Me being Alltel however, didn't go so well. after two days and migraine headaches to boot, arguing with store, store manager, insurance company, customer service, advance customer support, etc etc...........bottom line the BEST offer they gave me was waving the 95 dollar fee (ins ded) and giving me the touch (6900) WTF???? WHATEVER!!! My whole beef is the phone is screwing up, lots of problems, they verified this IN THE STORE!! I DO NOT want another 6800 that is REFURBISHED!! and they agreed with me on that issue, but are NOT willing to give me a "comparable" phone that has the slide out keyboard, only the Touch(6900)!! I'm now at the point of trying to see what Sprint will do for us (boyfriend has 2 phones with Sprint now, but also has an Iphone with At&t) he was going to let the Sprint phones expire, and keep the Iphone, but now he's considering upgrading those two contracts and letting the Iphone go..............so we will see what Sprint will do on the price of the touch pros and if that's going to be an option. otherwise, I'm stuck with the mogul for now until I'm eligible for an upgrade which is still a long time...............

BUT AGAIN, I'M VERY HAPPY FOR THOSE THIS HAS WORKED FOR, JUST WANTED TO SHARE MY EXPERIENCE FOR ANYONE ELSE WHO MAY WANT TO TRY THIS WITH ALLTEL.

The Touch and the Mogul are not comparable, it isnt just the keyboard, you should tell them you need the wifi capability for work, and the ir port for printing off of your device...which is why you purchased the mogul in the first place.... and if they cant service you, to let you out of the contract peanalty free. That should move them. Also dont give up, dont be afraid to go up the ladder to the manager, the supervisor, and their corperate relations department.

Its not a bad idea to reflash it back to stock.

I hard reset first. Probably overkill, but doesn't hurt anything.

Then relock with this relocker:

Naw just reflash back to the stock sprint rom , you will be fine that way

naw they jsut dont want it to come in melted or chewed up by your dog... normal weat and tear on top of an occasionall drop they wont say anything or even care since they place new housings on all the refurbs before they ship them out....

You want to sync for your contacrs before flashing the ROM. The flash process will erase everything. Besides that, your good. And the activsync is fine. Its just windows mobility center(or activsync if your on xp)

thats the one, you should be fine after that, mesure you lock re-lock your phone BEFORE you run the rom.

So ive been waiting for this for a few months now, hopeing they would replace the mogul with the Pro and it seems the dreams have come true.

After having read through all the posts in here and another forum to confirm its success I tried and did all the steps on the service replacement form and I got it to replace it with the Touch Pro Kit for the last step. The only thing Im worred about is that on the little white tab behind the battery for water detection its half red but I've never dropped it in any water.

So I decided to hold off, I do have the TEP insurace plan and have had it since last may when I first got the phone. So will they give me any crap and try to tack on a huge bill or should I just go and send it in?

I do have one of those white spots on the screen and the keys do lag and freezeup when typing very often and have to reset it. Also once of the spring hinges broke and it doesnt pop out as solid as it use to. Is there any one of those drop down options that would be the best choices for me to justify my problems. I picked buttons dont work last time, but sometimes they do and sometimes they dont. I just dont want them to test it and then get screwed over.

I know kind of a long post Any suggestions or opinons ?

ok guys this is a way of also getting the htc touch pro but what i did was a little easier and safer. i called up sprint and got transfered to the insurance company which is also known as TEP, well i told them that my mogul was acting up weird and that i am not able to use many features which was a lie i just knew that they ran out of moguls and they were giving out touch pros instead so they said ok we are gonna go ahead and replace you with a new phone and i was just waiting the whole time for him to say "we are sorry but we do not have any moguls in stock at the momment but what we can do is send you something similar to it which is the touch pro" and in my head i was like yes thats why i called for. so i ended up getting my touch pro. but i should be getting it within 3 days they said. so if anyone wants to try what i did go ahead it worked for me. ohh yeah and this was at no cost....

Wow. So after beeing mia from here for a few months (long story), I pop back in as I've been having trouble with my answer button failing occasionally, only to find this thread. I went ahead and went through the foms and it says Touch Pro will be sent. Woot!!!

So I do have one question for the insiders around here. How thoroughly do they check the phone out when you send it in? I figure there's a 50/50 chance the problem I've been having is software related, so if I flash back to stock rom, there's a decent chance it'll fix it. Should I be worried that they'll come back and say "no sign of defect"?

nah doesnt matter what reason you put in the defect, it shouldnt make a difference. looks like they recieved so many moguls that they have refurbs again!! dont worry, if you get mine you will be fine lol treat her good!

Now I guess since I've not touched my mogul for a couple months after getting it locked in how I liked it I've go to go back and get VGA versions of apps where applicable and remind myself how to get this set up how I like. Off to searching once again...

you will prolly need to go through asurion, they might give you a pro if they dont have any more moguls

They only replacing the mogul for the same phone and not the touch pro anymore even if it's damaged or not. Yeah, it's $50. The $50 deductible fee. I was told that by the rep. I'm gonna call later and hope I get another rep I might be able to convince to get me the upgrade. I'll see what happens.

well when you think about it...if you look across all smartphone forums...people are talking about this and with thousands upon thousands of people sending their moguls back...these moguls are not just getting thrown out...the are being repaired and some might not really have any issues....so they will be in full stock of moguls soon...I just feel sorry for others...but now that I have a Pro I will always have to be given a Touch Pro in exchange if I have any issues and so will all other touch pro users with protection...so u better hope on this train while it is still going...cause soon enough this train will pull into the station.

well mines also came with two batteries. i also have all the stuff left over from my mogul, so i din't open anythining other than the phone and battery. only thing i noticed, is that the home key is raised just slightly over the screen. is not flush like the back key on the other side. since this is my first time with this bad boy, i dont know if thats normal. either way im not sweating it. my contract is up in three months, so im sure they wont give me to much problems in replacing it at that time.

what a lot of users on the original thread have done is do the claim and if it says its gonna replace with a mogul, exit the system before you confirm the order and then try again. Some people have done it 5-6 times before the touch pro came up as the replacement model so just keep trying

You'll never know till you try it, chances are, you may only get the mogul replace, because so many have been swaped out, i think sprint now has a plentiful stock of moguls being reconditioned and refurbised...

if it doest work when you try it, and your still under your 30 day, i suggest going to your local sprint store and trying to swap out there in person... tell them ur unde your thirty day, and there swapin out mogul for pro, so you like to replace your defective mogul u just bought with one of their instore pro's or something... use your silver tongue, youll probably get it...

theres no rpomise that they wont have the mogul in when the 30 days are over so you would get one or they may have them so you wouldnt get one........ i would wait it out and see..... trust me i know it is hard to wait for a device like the pro that you want soooo badly..... but the best things come to those who wait :>

yep i talked to a lady at sprint and she told me that there is no guarantee that you will get a touch pro as a replacement, but the best thing is to just keep checking it

it seems to go off of area and what warehouse also if you ask me..... and yes you have to return the mogul and it is always smart to relock and flash back to the newest stock rom.

I guess it was just a matter of a few hours.... I just tried it and they offered Refurb mogul.... Dang.... Guess I 'll keep checking.

it can vary rom minute to minute and hour to hour so bookmark that bad boy and try throughout the day when you have some downtime.

I have one close by too but I work like 35 miles away from where I live, so I typed in my work zip since I knew there wasn't one around there. It still lets you continue filling out the form no matter what zip you enter as long as you enter one that is more than 15 miles away from a repairs center..... Closest one to my work is like 20 miles or so and they still offered Mogul.... I even tried using an Alaska zip code haha

Just to let you all know I got a message in the mail, that starting April 19, 2009 it is going to cost $100 to replace the HTC Mogul if you have the ERP so make sure you do this before then. The ESRP is still going to be free, at least that is what it looks like.

bro be patient, not everyone knows the answer and those who do will answer when they see your post...as long as you had something wrong with your mogul, i believe it was the keys, then you should not be charged...if you sent in a brand new or new refurb then you would probably be charged but if that happens i've heard that they will let you send the pro back and reverse the charge

I don't think it works anymore...I believe Sprint has caught up to the game, especially after like almost 5 months of doing this and all those people sending Moguls back, you know Sprint's supply of Moguls is probably through the roof now...

well you need insurance to do this so that is out of the option and if you want a new phone you are going ot have to buy it straight out or if your past a year into your contract you can get it for the 2 year price if you extend back to 2 years.
