Palm is really pushing things further beyond expectations.
Their recent launch of the new WebOS on Palm Pre smartphone has created buzz all around the geeky world and the hype is pretty much close to what Apple made for their iPhone.
Apple will be remembered for revolutionizing mobile technology in many ways including one by which the carriers act together with manufacturers and making them bring a new technology called Visual Voice Mail on At&t networks.
Palm planning the similar strategy, after creating the hype with Pre Smartphone and signing exclusive distribution with Sprint' CDMA networks, they have introduced the new technology that allows simultaaneous data and voice. Although this stuff was already available on 3G GSM networks, it's really nice that they have bought it into CDMA EVDO networks too.
But even before the Palm Pre takes it up, Sprint shows some love on Windows Mobile and makes Palm Treo Pro the first device to get this technology. Tre Pro is another nice pocket pc which will definitely attract previous palm customers and probably even force them to update.
Now Mr.Palm, the pre, pro and all those confusing names, start naming your devices better. Treo does sound nice but the pre and pro stuffs getting confusy for many :) To brush up, Pro is a Windows Mobile based Pocket PC and Pre is the next hyped smartphone with their new WebOS.
