i think this thread is a good idea... i read through this on the other site a while back... theyve definatly made some additions...
but just a heads up to other NYC heads on AMJ... VZW 1.0.3 is horrible in NYC... it decent in upper manhattan and midtown, buisness area also but thats it... travel within any of the boros, bronx and brooklyn I know for sure its horrible, sparatic through out the rest of manhattan and barly function on the outskirts of queens like astoria or futher out like queensvillage... of all the radios ive tried... (and I believe broski will cosign on this w/ me) the sprint radios are pretty much the best...1.0.3 or 1.11...both are good... but beware vzw...IMO

Here in Nashville, TN i've used both the 1.11 sprint and the 1.04.05 telus with extremely similiar results. Maybe slightly edging towards telus with the plecebo effect that it gave me better battery life.
Red hook , NY Sprint Stock 1.03 what can i say. for radio wise. It works perfect.Battery life is insanely awesome on 6.5..

I have sprint radio 1.11 and live in BayShore(long island) NY........the service just sucks within 3 towns around me, can anyone suggest a radio? I had the stock b4 and it worked just like 1.11, one more question, is it me or did i see that people use different radios other than carrier specific?

i would try the telus sicne a lot of people around your area are digging that one.... you could also try the newest sprints one or the verizon which just came out as well as the alltel.

yes i tried all radio's except the verizon one since i didnt want to reload my phone because it hard resets it(the one i have anyway, not sure if its the NEW one).....I only was able to test a few minutes for each radio but 1.07 definitely stood out amoung the others.. 1.11F was only reading 900-1100mbs.....but 1.07 was reading 2.5+ easily each time....

i did flash the telus radio and it's incredible. the difference is huge! way faster, and most important way better battery life. battery was such a huge issue for me i was ready to throw this phone out/ ofcourse i mean sell it. i would barely get 12 hours with very light use. right now i'm at 18hrs!!!! now it is telling me to charge, but that's a 50% difference. and i havn't tested it but it's quite a bit faster too. i just got hip to the radios. this should be promoted more on our site.

hahhaha word we do promote the radio flashes around the site pretty much..... the only other thing that i can think of doing is renaming and adding how to add a radio to the rom flashing thread....... dont wanna throw too much at the noobs right off the bat otherwise they may become overwhelmed..... hell i was overwhelmed at first with just the basics when i started hahahaha

as said right in my signature or flashing custom rom when searching using the search feature in the upper right... i would suggest reading the noob guides too because you wont last long at any forum if you dont learn the forum too
