How Do I Get Started

I've read noob tutorials and other threads that i thought would help me..i looked around and found myself still sitting here thinking what should i do?? I want to just learn on how to install a basic theme on my touch pro but cant find a specific thread or tutorial on how exactly i should start from scratch...I've never modded anything so i dont know where or how to make a .themefile...

i also looked at the "how to install tf3d theme tutorial" from dash...but it was for a diamond...

and if links can be provided it would be much helpful...
