as stated above, i find this a very useful. been using this software since it came out. although i paid for it (50 bucks) some years back. but i get lifetime updates with it. this is the only program i use to make copies of dvds that i own. you will not be disappointed.

I use this to rip to DVD9 or customize, then good old DVD Shrink to compress to DVD5 if needed.. DVD Shrink produces the best quality I have seen yet.

been using this since the software was in it's infant stage and it is absolutely hands down one of the best things out there i remember back when i was making my "backup archival copies" i'd rip, merge the VOBs and then use a 3gp converter to plop them on a mobile player although it seems to not play nice with 64bit drops down to almost half the fps when encoding compared to a 32bit pretty sad that i have to revert to my old machine to rip DVDs still not bad though

I've downloaded but am wondering what to do with the file in the "serial" folder.

what file extension is it? is it a .key file or something if so just find that exact file from programs and than overwrite it since that is what gives you the working serial and version of this application.

Copy and paste it into the install directory of dvdfab6 and double click it after to register :)

The file is named key.dvdfab6 and doesnt seem to do anything when I paste it into the program>dvdfab6 folder. Do I need to rename it so that its .key? If I do then do I just run DVDFab6 and it will no longer be a trial.

No need to rename. Just copy file as is to the Programs>DVDFab6 folder...and BAM! There it is. Thanks guys.

another thing to try is when you extract the file you can try to open it and do the open with option and associate it with dvdfab when it runs it'll do it's thingthis may be a little more of a hassle so doing what blazingfate said will do fine too

This even lets me backup my new Transformers 2 DVD (movie part only).. All I had to do was disable the "pathplayer", and then select movie section #47 to copy/ISO.. Gotta love this software..
