well my monthly pcworlds magazine graded the palm pre an "82" (very good) upon there review and testing. And they tested upon the hardware, webos, social networking features and multimedia.
Even though there are mix reviews about it.But there's a big Hype about it.

The Palm pre is a good phone its just that by the time it came out it was a little too late. Maybe if it was 6 months to a year earlier it would have made a bigger splash.

i sold mine after a month. it was a great start but it lacked a lot of features i looked for in a smartphone and the fact that the sdk is so neutered that you can make no better than webapps and widgets with no hardware access or acceleration despite of the strong cpu. a lot of my needs wont come in a small firmware update so i could not stick it out till weboos 2.0 to get this so i passed for now

on those standards a clamshell lg lotus fits you well lol. my main needs are full featured web browsing with web uploading / downloading, file management (create folders, copy, paste, rename, delete, decompress etc.) and a mp3 player everything else is just icing on the cake

I'm with you on that, how many different ways can you make the same exact phone. All blackberry is doing is changing the plastic. They do the email thing very well, and the keyboards are ok but other then that it has nothing going for it. Kinda makes you feel like you don't have freedom with the blackberry or maybe its because we can't mod it too much. I think its the latter!

Well I agree there is a lot of hype with the Pre, also a lot of haters on a mission to bash it;s name. As for me, I'm in between. I think it is the sexiest phone out, it feels better in my hand (and looks better) than any other phone out right now. It has a very nice finish to it. As far as everyday use, I choose this phone over my tp. My daughter could set up email on this thing it is so easy to use and it stays in sync 24/7 which I love. i never have to back it up, ever. As far as texting and email and even web, I like it better on my Pre than my TP. But that's about where the line stops. I can cut, copy, paste, make new folder etc on my Pro and expandable memory is key. Not to mention it doesn't take a degree to mod it to my liking and there is way more available for Winmo right now being the Pre is still like a new born baby. Once it matures a little more I believe it will be a threat to any device out there. It's just in it's baby phase and they are taking baby steps with it. I can do waaay more on my Pro, but the little things are better and easier on my Pre. I love Windows and live for Windows, so that fact that the Pre lacks Windows, is a problem in itself. I can't change the OS around and tinker with certain things like I can on my Pro. Well I know this wasn't a review but I just sharing my thoughts on the Hype about the Pre and what I have found I like about it. I will be glad to trade my Pre for a touch Pro 2 if anyone is interested, lol... just fyi... I only wish the touch screen on my Pro was as good as the Pre, I mean, the Pre touch screen works very well except lacking certain features. But it's very fluid and smooth when I'm showing to customers they are amazed compared to my Pro. Neway, thanx for the post PB........ I hope you NEVER GET A BLACKBERRY.... seriously, people with Blackberries just don't acknowledge the power of anything else so they thing it's the answer to all, not so much, lol.... I can smoke any BB anyday of the week, twice on Sunday, with my Pro or my Pre, and probably with a lotus if I had one, lol....

nice i feel the same way about it too... im planning on selling my pre once the service on their runs out...... i like the device but it doesnt do nearly as much as my pro or do it as efficiently for the small tasks that many of us take for granted..... the pre does have rollercoaster which is one hell of a program/store for the pre :) i love the layout and how you can quickly download, update, and browse the whole app catalog even by sections :)smile:
