I decide to test the waters with sprint match pricing with verizon, this is the email respond i received.

Thank you for contacting Sprint regarding the handset upgrade on the
account. We are glad to know that you are interested in buying the HTC
Touch Pro 2.

We at Sprint are thankful for your valuable association with Sprint. You
have been Sprint customers to have a Sprint customer since 2006.

Each service provider has there own promotion and discounts. Due to
this, other service provider is offering the HTC Touch Pro 2 for
$199.99. Unfortunately, it is not possible to match the price of the
other service provider. I am sorry for the inconvenience this may
cause.

We offer great rebates on up gradation to our customers by considering
the active age of the Sprint phone on the account.

Your phone has qualified for all the rebates including the $150.00
instant rebate. Therefore, you will be getting the HTC Touch Pro handset
at the online price that is $349.99 after mail in rebate.

Considering your valuable association with Sprint, I am offering you
additional $50.00 credit on purchase of HTC Touch Pro 2 handset.

After purchasing the handset, please reply with the scanned copy of the
handset purchased receipt and we will apply the promised credit on the
account.

We value your business and appreciate the opportunity to serve you.

Yeah well I walked over to Verizon the yesterday told them about my plan at Sprint and asked about TP2. Asked they guy to hook me up he offer me TP2 for 150. I am think about taking his offer too lol.... since i could probably sell my pro for at least 100. And my bill would be less a month.

Yeah so much so that I walk over to the Mall on lunch where there is a verizon store and talked to sales person. Told him that if he hooked me up on price I would mod out his phone lmao. It took him like 5 mins with my phone before he smiled and said lets see what i can do for you lol !!!!!

Well, glad its not me having all the "issues" with $print. I'm glad I got a contact high up enough to get the phones cheaper. I really don't understand why $print doesn't come down on the price. I know it's been talked about a lot about the phone being $123, 822, 928.89 in an economy that's almost tanked. I'm also pissed about being with $print since 2002 and getting shafted too. I got one more year on one of my lines and I'm going to evaluate Verizon. I started researching already and for me I'll loose 900 minutes and pay $6.00 more a month. But it might be worth it to have better CS.

Honestly, after about 5 years with early Sprint, 6 years with VZW, and now 18 months back with Sprint, I don't think there's too much difference in CS. My problem right now is the plan stuff. To get close to what got me to switch to Sprint would cost about $40-50 more a month. Definitely not worth that.

Sounds great Bro. I might have to dip into those waters, but not just yet. I do have a contact with a specific Sprint retention person who has always helped me in the past by getting around many different obstacles, so that's probably the avenue I need to go 1st. I know just need to decide if I want to upgrade. Decisions, decisions.

Dear Mr Velasquez,

Thank you for your reply.

You will get the new handset (HTC Touch PRO 2) at the online price of

eligible rebate of $150.00 with a new 2 years contract.

We have offered the additional credit of $100.00 for each phone

It is not possible to combine the handset upgrade offer with the
contract renewal offer. You will only get the above offer on a new
handset.

After checking out my friend's T-mobile TP2, I figure I would try to get Sprint to match Verizon's price. I also sent them an email and all I could get was $100 credit.
So....Reg Price $599
Instant Saving -$150
Mail In Rebate -$100
Credit -$100
New Price $249

So I emailed them back that I would think about it. The next day Sprint E-care called me and told me that if I renewed my 2yr contract I would get an additional $70 credit. So I ordered my TP2. Then I put my TP on craigslist for $150, just wanted a quick sell, and it was sold in 10 mins.
So.... $249
Renewal Credit -$70
Sold TP -$150
Total Cost of TP2 $29
Not to bad for upgrading to the TP2. https://www.wckediden.com/forums/images/icons/icon7.gifhttps://www.wckediden.com/forums/images/icons/good.png

yes it is true with a new contrasct signed.... ebay process will oly go down around 25-40 bucks max in my opinion since not everyone wants to sign a new 2 year agreement.

I agree, but after $40 and another 8% from live search and if I can sell my pro for a decent price it might not hurt my pocketbook as much. I'm gonna wait until that overdue unlocker comes out first before I put my money where my mouth is. I might even go for the hero and try my hand at android...

i just checked on the Sprint website and the price hasn't changed. However, i also looked on the Business version of the Sprint website and the price HAD changed. i was furious. i immediatly emailed our company rep (we have Sprint where i work) and she told me that her understanding is that the change was only for Business customers. I told her that i had never heard of there being such a large price difference between the two and she agreed but didn't have any additional info for me. I told her i was just call retentions and talk to them.

For Business accounts it's automatic, but from the feedback I see is if you don't give up and remain persistent. you will find someone offering it to you eventually. Maybe not on the 1st call, or 2nd, etc, but hang in there and you will most likely get it.

Dam, that sux bro. Sorry, to hear that. I know dealing with Sprint or almost any cell company is like pulling teeth to get what you're end goal is. It's usually never a pleasant experience. I have had one TP and have been lucky as to no defects. Good luck with that.

What's so great about the TP2??

Ok so I tried this like two months ago and here it is.........

I called sprint and talked with cs/advance ts/ts/managers then retentions/cancellations and told them about a legit better deal with verizon and hopped they would at least get me a price match with verizon equipment. With having ten years of service with sprint, being a primere customer, having two lines and buying most of my phones via ebay/craigslist they told I should not waste my time with sprint and go to verizon. Their exact words. Sprint is getting crappy on their customer relations and really does not care anymore, I will say I will always have sprint as a provider but it does not mean i have to like it.

What's so great about the TP2??

a great keybaord, a sexier screen thats way larger and makes file explorer and many others tasks like texts and emails easier. the onscreen keyboard is actually very usable, custom roms are out and great with leo interface, the keyboard slideout wise is just beautiful, spacious, and typing is so smooth and fluid naturally on it. the phone out of the box on stock rom is very stable and considerably faster and wuicker in all processes than the tp. the scroll bar just below the screen is very nice for the net and browsing as well. i love the tp2 and got the droid eris from cnet and just started testing thast todasy sicne the firsdt one that came yesterday was a bun so they called verizon and i just got back from picking up a new one. hope this helps some and any questions feel free to ask :)
