* Everything Data
* Everything Data Family

to tell the truth the chin on the device got old really quick trust me on that one..... it got in the way, took the blunt of any fall and made the phone feel as if it wasnt weighted evenly.

I gotta say after using and messing with this all day, that It's really nice to just have everything work fine the first time with no cabs to install to get things to work. I do kinda miss the keyboard but I'm already getting better at the touch only though. So far I REALLY hate saying it but im not missing wm much.

the phone is is real dope all these apps and its working smooth so I have to say this is the phone to beat right now. I was on the app market last night and downloaded some funny sound boards and some old school connect four and simon says. I miss the keyboard but the touch is much more responsive than my first touch screen phone which was the htc vogue. Well in a nut shell if you are ready for a upgrade this is the phone to have because it customizes to your liking, its entertaining , helpful, reliable, and most of all fun.

Congrats on the HERO. What I would like to know is for those that own an HERO and a TP2... which would you prefer and why if you had to choose between the two devices? I probably should start this else where, but so much feedback has been given already ;)

i just did (went with the Hero)
the Touch Pro 2 is an awesome device but not exiting IMO since its basically the same thing i had (and HATED) in a bigger, faster package....
Hero had me with the SenseUI and the fact that HTC indeed re-wrote Androids base apps with their own version rather than add theirs and still have the stock one in the background
glass screen, capacitive, 5mp camera, and digital compass (Layars Argumented Reality WOW!!!! Best friggin app ever made!!!) swayed me to lean towards the hero IMO
its still preference though since people prefer the WM OS as well as the slideout design with a keyboard

Thanks Mike, good info. I might just get both and switch back and forth occasionally :) Too bad it's not as easy as switching a sim card, but Sprint did make it easier than back in the day :)
Still looking for more feedback + some more digging on my part. Thanks again Mike.

Can anyone comment on the email app for the Hero. I have played with android on my vogue but the email or gmail I should say does not come down in full html like it does on winmo. Maybe not a deal breaker but I do like seeing the full email instead of just the text.

I,m having problems making my mind up too, i am so used to wm os i'm scared i might not like it and no slide out key board damn! since i had ppc so long what would be a good choice the palm pre, tp2 or the hero? let me now so i can change up today, my touch pro needs to go and i don't want a next refurbished one.

if you want to try out Android and still have a qwerty keyboard, why not try out the Samsung Moment?? I bet you wont mind the 800mhz CPU and AMOLED screen :blob1:

i dont know man i feel like i'm going back to analog, i'm so used to wm, i had all the htc ppc touch phones until now and need the same comfort and more when i make my next change and i heard the battery life on the tp2 is worst than the tp. i dont want to try i want sure shot i hate going back and forth so i try to do the research first.

the battery life is wayyyyyyy better on the touch pro 2 over the touch pro and there is no doubt in my mind... i get wayyyy better life and im with verizon now but goku has said the same with tmobile and a couple of y buddies have said the same with sprint which i have seen first hand and can back up....

I made the jump to give Android a shot, because I know it has all the right concepts and direction to be a huge player in this market. I'm loving my Hero. Not a hard transition. It'll take a sec to feel how works, but it will come easier than someone with no knowledge of WM and trying to work a WM device. You can have no knowledge of Android and it will all come together. Also, with us knowing that Eclair Android 2.0 will be released for us Hero owners is huge with the additional capabilities. LAR as mike mentioned above is a sick program and from the video I have seen on Google Navigation... ridiculous. I'm stoked and can't wait to get the upgrade. Having a capacitive screen doesn't hurt either :) Not going to take anything from the TP2, because I still love my WM and have heard nothing, but good things in that department. For me, it was about change and what Android had to offer. From there, I can jump back and forth from TP to Hero and I'm deciding whether to give in and get TP2 just to add to my collection :) Good Luck on your decision.

I've heard great things about TP2 battery from Dash, which just posted here and on threads, and I was texting with Goku the other day and was letting me know about the life of his battery. I can tell you with the Hero, I haven't had battery life like I do with it. Especially, how I use it, I'm such a Power User, but it gives and gives and I'm just amazed. I didn't have this type of life with any previous PDA/Device regardless of ROM.

i also had my eye on the palm pre too and i am a power user too,also a appjunkie, i use my phone for damn near everything, i"m a master barber so you know i need my phone for buisness, the hero has a good camera to so i think i might just go with it because it's htc,as you see i'm tweeking a little bit about this transition because i dont want to go back to the damn store. why does the tp2 cost so much more than the hero or the moment?

im really dissapointed with the Hero's camera to be honest... the Pre was 3.2 and it took waaay better pics than this supposedly 5mp camera
No biggie cuz i barely take pics but still...
