Android 16 will introduce a new Night Mode Indicator API to help apps automatically optimize photo capture in low-light environments.
Instagram and other social apps will use this to trigger Night Mode, thereby improving image quality and informing users when they are clicking images in low-light conditions.
Select devices, such as the Pixel 6 and above, Galaxy S24 Ultra, and others, already support the feature and display a moon icon to help users activate Night Mode.

Google plans to introduce a new Night Mode Indicator API in Android 16 (https://www.androidauthority.com/android-16-features-3484159/) to help apps automatically adjust to low-light environments when capturing images or recording videos.
