could be bootloader... their was a pre gps version of 2.40 caused major issues....use this one just run it...if your stuck in boootloader after dont worry flash the custom rom.

what up dash this redman do I do the same step in flashin a custom rom for my mogul cause sprint just gave me a new mogul and im back to 6.0 and the sprint dude said that mogul can't use rev a and 6.1, I wanted to tell him he was a f***kin lie but I just said ok that what up and left.

look in the first post bro its all right htere on how to flash. you need the 3.35 rom first and flash that if you dont have than unlock the phone as flash 6.1. please read the thread before posting or at least the first post in this case lol.

noob ? if I switch from a custom to a custom(kaos version 2 to dcds 3.0.1 alltel) do I have to flash a stock and then go flash the custom or can i go custom to custom. if so on the custom to custom....dcds is an exe file so would i need to still paste it in my ruu file even though there is no nbh?

nope your phone stays locked so you wont have to reunlock the phone.... and no you just run the exe file and flash the phone by following the steps.

you lost me on one part...i still have to unlock the phone again to flash the new rom right? lost me with the relock...I just need to use the unlocker run the exe and I will be "golden" hahah nice touch huh!

nope you unlocked once and wont have to unlock again unless you relock the phojne using the relocker tool. so if you didnt relock after you unlocked your golden to flash and double click the exe file and follow the steps on your pc.

Um, Dash, this may be a dumb question and I may be reading too much into this but, does the blue text up there mean I should NOT flash with a stock Rom, such as the newest one on the alltel site? If I did what would happen? Thankyou :) I just would like to have all my bases covered.

My thinking is that it shouldn't work to flash the new alltel rom after the new sprint rom, as both roms will update the radio... I would simply delete any benefit of the sprint rom....am I correct?

dude, your not reading the directions clearly, step away from the pc and take a breathe and come back to it, it claerly states what to do, I dont see how you got that you should not flash with a stock rom.... its simple:
1. run the hardspl unlocker
2.then flash to sprint 3.35
3.when its done flashin it will boot up and then u will see a small pop up screen that says running sprint customizations in a 3 second countdown, so i advise have your stylus near the reset hole b/c as soon as you see this screen pop up hit the reset rite away, dont let it countdown.
4.and after you reset, now choose a rom of your choice, i suggest kaos rom take 2 b/c it doesnt run the sprint customizations so you wont have to worry about resetting before the countdown.
5.after you install rom and it boots up, soft reset phone, take battery out for 1 minute then hard reset and your good to go.
6. you golden and DONE!!!

from my understanding, you can just flash the custom rom, because the phone should already be unlocked.

yup you are right,i like to hard reset my phone before i flash.

look in the first post it clearly says from custom to custom

same way as the rest but we are not to into roms for the wing as of yet since we dont have to many members with that phone...... but we can try to expand that area in the near future for you.

no the eing isnt like a mogul it is liek the herald and only has the 200 mhz processor compared to the mogul 400. lalo will be the guy to ask on that ill ill start building the wing section tonight for you.

1. there is no gps on the wing all it has is the 991 tracking.

I just wanted to quickly note that I asked earlier in this thread whether or not I could flash the new alltel stock rom over the sprint rom and still have the gps enabled.

I have recently found the answer to that is no.

I installed the Sprint ROM, then a Custom Rom. Yes GPS worked, I had other issues that have made me prefer to go back to the stock Alltel ROM, When I flashed the New Alltel ROM, as I suspected, it wrote over the Sprint radio and the GPS is gone.

I write this because I feel it confirms the validity of my questioning of whether it would work or not in the first place. Also to let others know that they should find a custom Rom that will work well for them before they even bother.

UPDATE: I have now installed dcd's titan rom 3.0.1. GPS is a go and the system moves fast. He did not bloat it with extras. It works wonderful. The other nice thing is he has different versions pertaining to your particular provider. I might even give my first donation.....lol. My point is, if you would like GPS and you cannot run a stock rom and keep the new radio, try this custom rom.

anyone can help.

i am having the same problem as many others as far as flashing roms. I currently have the 3.35 on my phone. I want the 6.1 with rev. a. however, when I get to the tricolor screen on my phone and updating my rom it gets me message error and it says that my phone is not connected to usb not connected to my computer (no activesynce activity). I have already try reseting my phone and tried over and over again with this process by trying to disable my activesynce and then enable it, but once i am running the update it automatic disable my activesynce activities.

I know that this has already been answer many times and it seem to have solve others problem but I have tried what others have done and i have already tried to google it and looked in other sites for help such as xda, but everytime i am either confused or have tried what others have done to solve the problem but it has not work.

one other concern i have is i know that i suppose to extract the .nbh file and put it inot the ruu folder, but all i see is a book look alike icon that label ruu. Am I suppose to just drag the .nbh file and put it in there or am I suppose to see a icon that looks like a folder?

so help please?

Yes drag the .nbh file to the same location as the RUU. All you need to do if 3.35 radio is on your phone. Drag the .nbh file like explained above to the folder. Put your phone in bootloader mode by holding down camera, power buttons while pushing soft reset button. The screen should go to bootloader mode(tri color rainbow look). the on the bottom it should show you serial. Connect the phone to the pc. Now serial should go to USB. Once it says usb and the nbh file has been moved, just click the RomUtilityUpdate.exe file and flash the phone. Besure to follow all the instructions and diredtions that was told in the thread you got the ROM from. Hope this helps and please press the thanks button!!

updated first post with the touch flashing steps and all....... also at the end added a phone request note saying to post in this thread if you want me to write a tutorial for a different phone rather than those listed.

no clue a rom dump would have to occur for you to be able to get the rom. look under mobile cutomizations and than under unsupported and see if it is there. if not google is your friend ans well as the search key in green below the banner.

Dash i was wondering if your techniques are the same for an HTC wing from Tmobile.The radio version is like 4.17... can it be flashed or not being that it runs off a different sytem than sprint/alltel/verizon.

the wing can be flashed with roms made for the wing for tmobile which arent hard to find since that is a pretty popular phone

you wouldnt be able to do so since kaos's rom is for the mogul but you could talk to kaos about a wing rom and he might be able to help you out or make a request for one

quick question. how can i go about getting the 3.35 rom onto my phone if my kaos edition rom is freezing at the bootup screen. i know how to fix it but not how to get it fixable since i dont know how to get out of the screen.

JUst run the orlpiro unlocker 2.40 and reflash to 3.35 stock ROM you can find it here or on HTC website! Make sure you put the phone in bootloader mode before you run the unlocker and when you flash back to stock ROM!

it wont le me run that cuz my phone cant connect to the computer since its stuck on the bootup sceen. i already tried.

how do you get it into bootloader mode? i havent needed to so idk.

Dude please search it is already posted in this thread that is 20 something pages long
....BOOTLOADER MODE... Hold power and camera button then soft reset and let go... you wil get a rainbow screen. Thats bootloader mode... On the botton it will say SERIAL... connect the phone to PC and youll see SERIAL GOES TO USB.. activesync wont tell you the phone is connected.. IF IT SAYS USB then run the unlocekr!!

i knew everything else, i just didnt know the button combo. but thank you for telling me and not just being like, dude **** you go look for it. now i can finally do this correctly. i had to leave my house without my phone cuz it was stuck on the boot screen and i was like, AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!
