anyways an stock rom is an rom that the company itself made and put out for everyone to download and upgrade there phone. . .and custom is an rom that someone else made...could be based off the rom the company sent out. for example kaos's rom is an custom rom. he based it off a couple roms. added stuff and removed stuff.


and are you asking how to get bootloader mode screen? because it really isnt a program to say its more of an screen that lets you upload the new rom on your phone.

oh great you answered my question. but the thing is i am having trouble understand how to get a rom. i mean i can't find anything on the website that explains it to me properly (or should i say in baby steps). thanks again though. bootloader screen, unlocking? explain.

and how do you get the rom its no so hard? depends what rom do you want? stock rom or custom rom? and which custom rom? either way its as simple as just going to where its located and downloading it.


bootloader screen is an screen that allows you to upload the rom. it makes your computer recognize that the phone is connected to the computer since the phone is off it wont recognize its plugged int but the screen allows the computer to see that the phone is there so you can upload the rom to it. you dont wanna upload an rom to your phone while its on.


and i understand. just please try to read and search before. but im happy to answer your questions.

what do you mean you havent found anything that guides you in baby steps... the first post is as straight forward as you can get and gives you step by step instructions to follow...... there is no way to explain it and make it easier.... if you cant do that iwould recommend not flashing because you can casue yourself a major headache or even brick your phone.

Do I have to backup my contacts before installing a stock rom?
 

I'm trying to do the stock upgrade before any of the homebrew, I'm new to modding the HTC, did my girls iphone before but they have a lot of videos on youtube for that, couldn't find many for the Mogul. If I have to backup the contacts, how do go about doing that, I've read people using pimwckedackup, where do I get that from?? Appreciate any help and suggestions, thanks!

bro this is how to flash and isnt the correct way and search!!!!! been discussed many times you can use pimbackup, activesync, mail2web, etc.... search in the future and post in the correct areas. Thanks

i have the sprint titan with 3.35 update and dcd3.01 rom version i want to go back to the stock rom but when i run the relocker then the stock rom i get and error 260 connection so could any one tell me what i'm doing wrong.

there is no custom roms for the treo 700wx out and never will be sorry.


try on a different computer...... usually that error happens on a vista computer...... is that what you are running it on?

I've been contemplating flashing a custom rom but it seems like everyone here uses Windows xp I'm running on vista and i did flash to 3.35 using HTC's download with no problems does this mean I can flash custom roms also?

I get stuck in bootloader mode on my vista when i try to flash. WMDC won't connect.
tried on my old xp computer it did the same thing.

if you're in bootloader just check if it says "USB" in the white portion of the screen at the bottom. if it does then you are okay to flash, just run the RUU in the correct way that is stated in the first post

I am trying to flash a rom for the first time for my 6800. I have done some research and found that neuROM 2.0 5060 might work best for me. From my understanding it supports gps/rev a. so ive looked at the bottom of the post "GPS/REV A STUFF" and saw that i need to unlock using imcokemans 2.31 unlocker for gps, but im having a hard time finding the program.

can anyone help me out?

also, im looking for a simple wm 6.1 rev a with gps. if anyone have better suggestions other than the neuROM 5060 please let me know.

Hi I just got the PPC 6800 touch for us cellular and having trouble finding apps and such. My question is does this site have a specific place just for us cellular people. I search for this stuff but everything is so scattered I do not know what app or program go to what service provider.

most apps will work with your phone. I suggest looking for ( SEARCH ) DASH's TOUCH WIth LINKS, Thats the title. So a Search for "Dash Touch or Touch" You said 6800 touch? Did you mean 6900?

no mine is a HTC PPC 6800 touch screen form us cellular, anyway don't I need to flash and make sure the roms are compatible with my service provider?

bro for the mogul aka 6800 all WM6 apps will work ity is a mogul running WM6 or WM 6.1 so they wil all work they arent for certain phones (unless on rare occasion) they say WM6 they will work..... and all the roms for the mogul aka titan aka 6800 will work once you unlcok!!!!! jsut read the first post of the thread for the tutorial..... thats what the unlocker does.

just making surei am crossing my T's and dotting my I's!! i have done rom's before... but not cell phones, more like directV. i always had to clear the rom, then load the new one.. that's why i ask. Oh i am loading the ultimate nightmare that's why i wanted to know!!
