out in East texas the new telus radio is terrible. Cannot get 3g at all. I can on stock sprint

thats because telus is from canada and works better in the upper north and states close to the canadian border.... i would try wither the newest spritn or the verizon radio in your area.

I have a question. I am currently on the SERO (very inexpensive) plan with sprint and do not want to get booted for roaming too much. Does changing the radio say to verizon make me officially roaming according to sprint?

no it doesnt...... i use the telus radio from canada in michigan and have tried verizons, and alltels also....

after installing my new rom i tried the Sprint Raphael Radio V1.11.00F i couldnt get my gps and to work so i went back to the Sprint Raphael Radio V1.03.15F. everything update flawless. then for the hell of it went back to the Sprint Raphael Radio V1.11.00F it works now flawless. i went from 2 to sometimes 3 bars in my area to 5 bars all the time and have reception where i didnt have it before. yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hey dash, im using the new telus 1.07(i think) anyways i know you had a lot of luck with it in MI and mine runs pretty damn good too in buffalo,NY but listed on thread for best radios it has the older telus radio, you think I might do better with that? have you ever used that radio? is it almost always better to stick with the newest version out? wow! sorry I dont know why I just went on this random question spree :doh: lol!!! I know question 1 can answer myself by just tryin it, i just want your input, thanks.

naw just hasnt been updated i like the newest one the most and is what i use currently.... (yes i have used both radios)and naw its just whatever version works best for you thus why they are all still up and ready or downloads. hahaha and hell yeah im ready for some football :)

I'm on the border of lower southwest Michigan and northern Indiana and currently on Sprints 1.11.00f radio. Seems to be pretty good in this area. I've heard there's a newer sprint radio(1.14.25.35). Anybody try this one out yet? Dash, you say Telus works good in GR, how about K-zoo and the southern towns?? Tried looking for coverage maps, but no luck!

in kzoo and down south it is great!! i have never had any troubles with it thus far and has always performed good everywhere unless im in the middle of nowhere where no provider has service.... iwould def give this a shot and you dont have much to lose if you think about it since you can change it back easily and it doesnt hard reset your device when you flash one as long as you use the ruu folder that it comes in :)

Hey Dash, tried the newer telus radio, works great down here. Battery life is much much better and my signal is better than ever. Even quicker downloads using Opera 9.7 beta! Thanx!! Heard any news on the newer sprint radio?

yeah I kinda figured, i get almost 4 bars 1x amost of the time just my ev is random avgin probly 2 bars, hahaha man Ive become a smartphone brat, just 2 weeks ago i had plain old sprint radio that comes with tp, now im complanin i only get 2 bars lol my how this site can corrupt you!!!! lol.

well i flashed to the new radio no problem everything went cool (i thought) then i look and the clock was off so i tried to set it and it's off again also the weather widget wont update it just keeps saying N/A ive only been on it since lastnight but if i can get these bugs out i'll flash back to the 1.03.09 VRW radio as it has been total BLISS anyway just thought i would throw that out there and see if anyone else has had this problem or any other problems.

PS also i dont think it matters but i am running mySPRINT TP on the BOOST CDMA SERVICE (wich is SPRINTS prepaid devision) just incase they put some new protocol in there but i doubt

with all the hype of the new sprint radio i had to flash to that and venum said his phone didnt get as hot either with goku's rom.......definetly worth a shot....

for sure im running the same setup as i said earlier too with the radio and the rom and i love the hell out of the waythat this thing performs....... doesnt get as hot, the signal is way better for me than the lastest telus and on top of all that the abtter life with the two is uber awesome :soldier:

My coverage in the DFW area has been great w/o too many issues... none that I can really think of, so hard for me to give a good review. I will test when I head out of town, but I will relay if battery life has been improved. Hard to tell even then with a good confirmation due to me installing Goku's ROM and it already making that happen :)

That radio didn't work for me in east central florida. The EVDO speeds were slower, poorer connections to the towers, and the battery ran out faster.

Where I'm at there are fewer towers, while in orlando, you can get a signal in a lead-lined bunker.

sounds like you need to run a prl update. also you need to double check your epst settings and ensure your info is correct.

you could also be getting this if you are inside and have a weak signal. go outside, soft reset and try again. i got the same error yesterday when i got my refurb programed.

Flashed this and it seems to hold up with the phone not really overheating as much as previous radios, but alas the battery drains substatially quicker with the latest NRG rom, one 15 min phone call drops 10%, I think i am gonna have to head back to the telus radio. Don't get me wrong, the reception on this is okay as well but the reception on the both telus radios were much better and batt drain was less. Worth a shot but did not really impress me, btw I live in the Killadelphia area.

what's the difference in flashing a ruu vs. exe? checked the flashing guide on dash's sig with no luck. i would like to try the new sprint radio. and with the question i mean how to not results plz & thnx
