TomTom7 Working On Touch!!!

1 Attachment(s)
TomTom 7 extracted from HTC Diamond (repack3)[/b]
Requirements: WM2003SE/WM5.x/6.x (and a good bit of free RAM)
Overview: TomTom Navigator 7 for PDA. Rebuilt installer and ready patched for use on all PDAs.

[break]

More Info:
Thread recreated due to a slight admin glitch ;-)

Ok guys, this might help a few of you out:

This freshly built cab contains TT v7.450.9028.

Hacks included:
setup.dll is patched so you can install it on anything (& its broken digital sig removed).
The program is also patched so that it will run on anything and allow keygenned maps (so you can change your hardware and use still use the maps you already bought) (& its broken digital sig removed).
Several different device types are forced allowing you a choice of colour and screen resolution.
v6 map support has been enabled on device types that aren't supposed to support it (i.e. modern PDAs are supposed to require v7 maps).

Since TomTom aren't selling this software this will help people move to newer hardware where v6 doesn't run, so you can use all those maps you already own. Remember, you should buy your maps for this (I'd say buy the software too, but you can't!).

Download Instructions:
Repack3 archive contains 3 cabs (vga (black) & qvga (blue/black)), just install the one you want.

repack3 (all versions): http://rapidshare.com/files/12454104...028_repack3.7z (uploaded by Mig-32) - supports v6 & v7 maps, vga & qvga versions (qvga available in black & blue)

Mirrors (please create some more mirrors and post a link in the thread):
http://rapidshare.com/files/12459925...028_repack3.7z (thanks to rayarcafe)
http://rapidshare.com/files/12453350...28_repack3.rar (thanks to tabarda) - note this mirror is larger due to less compression

Basic Instructions:
All you need to do is add your voices and maps.
UK voices are included in the archive (but not installed with the cab), all official voices available here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=O0BPDK1A (thanks to mioa201)

If you need transfer maps to your new device use the keygen on the pc, run it against the map folder (v7 maps) and give it your device id (no space, uppercase), then copy the map folder to your device.
You run this in a command prompt, like this: tt7_keygen "map_folder" "deviceid"
For v6 maps activation codes use: tt6_keygen "path to .mid file" (then enter your device id when prompted)
To get your device id, run tomtom and exit. Look on your storage card for ttnavigator.bif, it will have your device id in it (DeviceUniqueID=<10chars>).

Mapshare instructions: http://forum.ppcwarez.org/viewtopic.php?f=277&t=49465

Potential Problems:
You don't know your device id: Read the instructions above, it tells you how to find it.
No sound after installing: Rename BTCoreif.dll and BtSdkCE30.dll (in your windows folder) to anything, then soft reset.
Map can't be loaded (incorrect code error): read the instructions above, you need to use the keygen to activate your map.
Large too font: use the qvga version.
Can't use v6 maps: repack3 has support for v6 maps in both vga & qvga versions, however you may also need to run this patch against the map if it was released for certain PNA devices: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=4U8UQ0GF
Doesn't run on PNA devices (out of memory error): no known solution, currently only usable on PDA devices.

are you kidding!!! read through the thread including thefirst post.

Re: TomTom7 Working On Touch!!!

nope. not kidding. the program itself isn't the issue. the maps are. i don't have a clue how to recombine them into one. when i extract them, all i get is overwritten files. the one that needs combining is the 'cline.dat' file, which in the rar file is displayed 'cline.data <->' and i'm clueless as to what that means.

Okay.. so I did read how it said works with Touch with External GPS... does that mean it defintely won't work on the Touch with internal GPS? Garmin works fine so does TomTom not support the Intermediate driver or something?

I havent tried 7 yet, but 6 works fine with internal/intermediate. Gotta either prime with google maps, or do what I did and get astro launcher. I dont see why 7 would be different.

i guess i'm an idiot. this doesn't appear to be as straight forward as it would seem to be.

has anyone actually got the maps to work properly? if so, a detailed explaination as to how would be greatly appreciated.

if it is the same as the old you just drop the maps in the tom tom folder..... you might have to make a folder namd maps and inside there though if that doesnt work.

i know where they go. like i said before, i've been working with Tom Tom v6 for quite some time. there are 8 parts to the maps themselves. most of the files are duplicates, the last file has beeen split into 8 pieces and must be reconnected. i have NO idea how. that's problem #1. problem #2 is i have no idea how to use the other code generators to make them work properly. the version 6 maps didn't have this issue.

this is a very very wonderful post and for anyone who uses TomTom, the idea of having a new version with newer maps is fantastic. however, if the posts require a PhD in computer engineering, what good does it do anyone?

but then again maybe i'm just stupid.

I was looking at your post further. As for "reconnecting" that large file, you need Winrar. Do a search here and look for the corporate edition V 3.71 I think.

Maybe that's not what you're talking about, but from what I read, that's what it sounds like. Once you DL all the files that need to be reconnected, and you have winrar installed, you right click on one of them, click on extract, and it will reassemble the split archive.

Back to topic though...

Installed and tested successfully on Touch(Vogue).

Installed NZ maps and unlocked with "Easyusetools_for_Keygen_Mapcheck_Metacheck_ttsyst empatcher1.rar"

Verdict: Garmin seems to have more voice prompting at regular intervals.. TomTom has more useful menu options (alt. route) and can have custom nav voices. Garmin has IMO the easiest to read maps of the two and the planned route is more clearly shown.

it doesn't work like that. you can't just put then in the folder and they work. they have to be decoded first. i spent hours figuring that out. the end result is a really good product with many nice changes over version 6.

This is the error message I get activation failed... sorry this is no the activation code for this product usa_and_canada

Installation Instructions:

1. Copy TomTom_Navigator_7.450.9028_repack1.cab (or whatever particular cracked tt7 name you have) onto your PDA and Install It.
2. Copy USA_and_Canada_720.1803 and voices to the root directory of your SD Card
3. Launch Tomtom and proceed through the setup instructions and select the USA_and_Canada map when prompted.

************************************************** ************************************
-- If the screen gives you the option to manually activate, go to 3A
-- if the screen says "Invalid map activation" and or "voucher" option, go to 3B

3A. Choose manual activation. Write down the manual activation code "XXXXX XXXXX" This is your device ID. Go to Step 4

3B. Shut down TomTom on the PDA and on your storage card, you'll find a file named "ttnavigator.bif". Copy this file to your PC and open it with Notepad, you'll see DeviceUniqueID=XXXXXXXXX about the 5th line from the top. Go to Step 4
************************************************** ************************************

4. Copy USA_and_Canada-14.meta from your PDA's USA_and_Canada_720.1803 folder into the tt7-stuff folder on your PC
5. Open a command prompt (run->cmd) and navigate to tt7-stuff

6. In the command prompt type:
tt7_keygen.exe "path to *.meta file" "DEVICEID" (NO SPACES IN THE DEVICE ID!)
Example: tt7_keygen.exe "C:\tt7-stuff" "XXXXXXXXXX"
If successful it should say "OK" and create USA_and_Canada-14.meta.dct inside tt7-stuff folder on your PC.

7.Now copy USA_and_Canada-14.meta and USA_and_Canada-14.meta.dct from tt7-stuff on your PC into USA_and_Canada_720.1803 folder on your PDA overwriting existing files.

8. Run TomTom 7 and Select the USA and Canada map. You should be good to go.

now a few extra notes:

1) the info that you got from D/\SH doesn't have the tt7-stuff folder. the name of the folder is not important as long as all the info is there. i think the one you have is "insert_meta_file_here" or something like that.

2) you need to add the info D/\SH provided right under where it says "meta.txt" in the supplied meta.txt file.

these instructions will get you where you're going. let me know if you still have problems have trying it again with these instructions.

I have just spent about an hour trying to type the commands correctly in order to generate the dct.

It's not working for reasons I dont know why. It just says "Can't find 'North_America_720.1803\*,meta' file

I put the map folder on my storage card, I took out the ttnavigator file to find my DeviceID "AB2HJAMUMJ", then I typed everything in cmd like the instructions said to, and it just isnt working...any idea how I can make this work?

It's not working for reasons I dont know why. It just says "Can't find 'North_America_720.1803\*,meta' file

I put the map folder on my storage card, I took out the ttnavigator file to find my DeviceID "AB2HJAMUMJ", then I typed everything in cmd like the instructions said to, and it just isnt working...any idea how I can make this work?

on this first page of this post, D/\SH has added some information that needs to be added to the meta file. without that information added, it won't work.

I'm sorry but I dont see what part you are talking about. There is another rapidshare link to a DCT builder, which is down for having illegal content. That's all I can see that is different than anything else I have followed. It seems that file would be EXTREMELY helpful to me, considering the DCT file is the file I need to create.
