These just change your radio, it wont erase your info or change anything else, unlike a reg ROM which will erase your device and change your regisrty and all that jazz:)

a rom is the operating system on the phone like xp or vista and the radio is what gives the phone signal and picks up the signal from towers of your provider.

ok right now that makes sense for what a radio does on your phone so in theory could you actually make a phone that works on sprint work on the verizon network by just changing the radio on it. in theory...

I dont think so because verizon runs on a different chipset. i"ve heard of people doing it on certain phones, dont know how true it is though.

ok so then that is a completly different hardware thing and probably wont work then what would be the point in flashing the radio of your phone? will it make it faster and if it does i would like to do that aswell which would be the best to use

I'm not an expert on radios and such, so I would wait for Kaos, Dash, or one of the other ROM developers to answer this. There really the guys in the know when it comes to these things.

no the radio wont make the phone faster the pagepool does. the radio just focuses on the signal for the most part. the pagepool is built in to the rom that increases the speed and functionality of the phone as well as other reg edits. i would recommend reading up on going custom rom wise since that seems to be what you are wanting from your device.

Yea i am looking to customize my phone i am actually wanting to make my own rom as suggested in my other thread but i am just trying to understand all of the process before i start. If there is like a information page or if someone has posted info on all of this if you could point me in that direction that would be great.

it would be impossible to do so on roms and radios because it would never stop growing since new things are found and added to kitchens all the time... the best way is to ask questions and search google..... we are here to help and dont mind the question being asked :>

Has anyone tried this radio yet? I've been having some trouble getting my touch pro going on evdo and it occured that there could even be something in the radio. I tried calling Sprint but they took the cop-out route that there are towers with trouble in my area. Possible, but it seems a mighty big coincidence that it happened at the same time I was switching phones. (Mogul was fine on ev the day I got the TP)

i use the telus radio myself and i love it and have no troubles with evdo.... i know alot of places with all the storms are having trouble with reception at the moment..... i would maby try a different radio since it isnt going to hurt than wait a a couple dasy if that doesnt fix your problem.....

the battery life is great and i really dont think that i have ever dropped a call on it...

So, theoretically... if I flash my radio (hopefully to a better one) itll increase signal stregnth to my phone> thus minimizing quadband a reception changes > thus improving battery performance?

Not to mention, better gps locks, and all the other benefits a stronger signal will give you, right?

Call me crazy but i really think telus knows how to make a radio!! I switched from the 1.11 to the telus 1.04 and went from 1 to 2 bars and it switching from ev to 1x every 10 seconds to 3 to 4 bars and ALWAYS on ev!! I imagine the battery is going to have a huge advantage from this.

I'll never use another sprint radio if this is the benefit of using outsiders radios. TY TY

hahahah no troubles i have been telling everyone the same thing since the day this radio was released and ripped from that device and service provider.

Hi..
Don't know if this has been asked but can i flash these new radio's on a stock ROM or do I also have to flash a ROM? I tried flashing the telus and sprint radio and both times i got an error stating that the ROMutility does not work with my phone...

Have u unlocked your phone?

yes you can flash on stock but your phone needs to be unlocked

a lot of them say unlocked but you have to run the touch pro unlocker found on this site and you will be golden to update the radio. Also the unlocker and the radio won't reset your device's data so your contacts and stuff will still be there

I have sprint htc diamond can someone help me make this radio work because i try everything but nothing works. this roms dosen't work at all :(

Wow...so many things missing from that post. LOL, ok....what ROM are you running?(there are quite a few out) 2. What radio are you trying to get to work?(there are 6 listed here) 3. What error are you getting? 4. Is your phone unlocked?

i'm gonna take a wild guess, but from his post, it sounds like his phone isn't unlocked and that he has no idea what flashing a rom is...i would suggest he reads the flashing guide

question staff, my phone is unlocked, running jugg's rom, all i need to do is run the ruu.exe and im good? thanks.

Just flash it just like a ROM and it will work fine. Its the same process, looks the same and everything, it just doesnt clear your memory. So your good to go.

you can start it from your reg phone screen. You dont have to manually do it.

okay i tried it and didn't do anything. i ran the romupdate utility.exe, thats the right one right? because the is also a ruu_signed.nbh file in there. which one should i be running? sorry for the noob questions, ha ha ha

just connect to active sysn.....and open the radio rar....should have an ruu in there....it will look identical to flashin a rom.....it searches for your phone...has u check those two boxes...ask if ya want o update and it loads and restarts.....dont need to hard reset or anything,
