Couple Problems.
When I first got my Touch there was a button at the top right of the home screen where the X is located when something is open. It allowed me to view the progams running and a few other options.
I installed a bunch of the programs recommended by dash and just got frustrated with all them. My home page was too full and i couldnt figure out how to get it like i wanted. So I uninsalled all the programs I installed and now that button is gone. I dont know how to get it back. Worst case is there a way to do a factory reset on the phone. I'm having a lot of trouble with this phone freezing up especially when running Opera Mini. Also, during this time, when the screen turns off it takes about 15 seconds to turn on once I push the power button to wake it up. Maybe it's becuase there are too many programs running, and thats why I would like this option back to stop programs when there are too many running. Thank you for any advice you have for me. Before my Touch I had the Mogul and never had a problem with it freezing on me, so this is really frustrating that I paid for this new phone and it keeps freezing on me. Thanks |
Re: Couple Problems.
never heard of that problem before and i dont use opera so cant help you there....... to get X button back you have to uninstall small menu that overrides it since it has a built in X button in the program.

Re: Couple Problems.
If a lot of programs are running along side opera mini the phone tends to slow down a little bit because you are running opera mini off java so its a little more intensive than regular opera (ironic that its called opera mini and takes up more resources)

thanks for your help but I just dont know what else to do |
Re: Couple Problems.
at this point i would just master reset, as it is a new device and its better to start from scratch...for me at least. If you want to be more careful or particular about which programs you want to install, there are topics for each program in the forums, so you can see what they do before you install them :)

Re: Couple Problems.
Ha not sure there is still some traces in the phone somewhere. you might have to do a hard reset bro if you cant find the traces in there.

Re: Couple Problems.
does a hard reset not reset the phone to the original settings? Nothing has changed after trying it twice.

Re: Couple Problems.
turn the phone off...hold the green and red buttons..push the stylus into the soft reset hole...keep holding green and red buttons until your fingers fall off or you see it say reset :)
