Name: HTC Touch 6-Tabs and Weather Fix!

Description: Hey guys, came across this while browsing for a weather fix for my Touch. It's very cool it actually gives you 6-tabs as opposed to 5 (including a music and contacts tab) while also giving you more US weather options. This is very helpful, especially to me because the closest included weather city was a state away, now I can get a city away. It also has an xml file that you can edit to put in your own cities.

Installation: First you want to install this cab file by dragging it onto your device and running it... SdkCerts.cab then just install this htchome plugin (it should overwrite your existing plugin if you have it installed) HTC Home Schen 2.1 6-Tab

Inside My Device/HTCHome you will find a bunch of icons and such, you can change these out for your own icons as long as they are the same dimensions. I'm currently working on a fix for the audio manager to open when you press Launch Music Player

*edit* Found solution to the audio manager problem, if you install this cab file, and install it on your device you can press the launch music manager button and it will auto load the audio manager application even if it's not already open.

Thanks for linkin me here bro..BUT I installed the first CAB file, ang then installed the second link as well. The HTC home program is a little different then what I used to have (as you said it will automatically replace my previous one), but I still can't get my audio manager to open up when I click "Launch Player" Can someone please help me out, and if I posted in the wrong area, I'm hella sorry. I can post this question on the HTC audio manager thread I originally posted.

the bottom link shoudl fix the issue no matter what, make sure you are installing to device and not storage card when installing this...

basically this fix just makes it so all the extracted files are put directly into your windows directory because that's where they need to be for this to work.

Aight, I got it bro. Hella thanks. I redownloaded Audio Manger w/the link you just posted, and it worked. I think the other link I downloaded from wasn't working because I couldn't see the it in my programs, but I can now. Once again, thanks bro!

Can someone help me...Ok...I installed this before w/no problem. But now when I'm tryin to reinstall it ( I had to do a hard reset ) it's saying:

Installation was unsuccessful. The programor setting cannot be installed because it does not have sufficient system permissions.

im having some issues, my phone launches crappy old WMP and not the HTC Audio manager.... any ideas?

try to do a soft reset before you install it again and see if that fixes the problem.

yeah im pretty sure the fix doesnt work, i have tried to install, reinstall, uninstall, and various other things and still have no luck

please advise any other ways to get it to work, it looks awesome and would like to figure it out, thanks

if you have HTC Home customizer just go into that, then select the options tab and make sure audio manager radio button is filled and not windows media. This changes a registry file from 1 to 0 in order to change the default player...goodluck.

huh it shouldnt look under the audio manager thread in the help desk for the touch and there is a registry edit you can perform in that thread.

click on thre weather so you get to the screen like when you set up the weather on your phone wehn choosing city. in the bottom right of the screen you will see a tab click that and you will see options or something like that. (sorry dont have on my phone right now just flashed a new rom) than change from celcius to Fahrenhite.

When I click on the certs cab thing it asks me about uploading files but how do I get the file off there to put it on my phone? And then where do I put it on my phone? How do I run it? I'm a noobie to this smartphone thing so I'm getting frustrated allready. Why cant we just click on a link and it installs like pc software?

omg im sorry but this has been discussed in the noob area in the help desk. go to the certs.cab and than click it. it will take you to rapidshare and than click on free after scrolling down wait the 45 seconds and than type in the code and it will let you download. now to the rest put it on the storage card and double click to install and choose main memory. this was all discussed in the noob guiide so pease read through that and use the quick search beofre posting in the future thanks.

OK the first one installed but when I tried to install the second thing (the thc home sche) thing from the card to the device it said unsuccessful because it does not have suff. permission? Let me guess this is in the noob thread to! Sorry I just whant to get it working and not spend all night since it's like 2:00AM here! I looked in the noob area and didn't see this permission problem in there?

Ok few problems with this fix.

I did everything as instructed

First did the sdkcert then the htchome plugin

and lastly the audio manager fix.

now the problems

since update it changed my default clock to some white clock that I cant change anymore. It added a date thing at the top that I can't seem to remove, and to top it off the weather still doesn't work.

Since I'm retarded I didn't back up before doing this "fix"....
I guess if I were to go to remove programs which ones would I remove to get it back to how I had it so I can try again?

I'm guessing the programs I need to remove are:

HTC Audio Manager
HTC HTC Home

I spose if I had to I could restore back to way earlier today when the phone was basically stock... but if that can be avoided =D

EDIT:

Ok I managed to get rid of the date at the top by going to Start->Settings->Today-> Items Tab and unchecked Date

Went into the HTC Customizer set everything back to default saved then went back in again and set it back to how I wanted it, and it worked.

Still unable to get the weather to work.

I'm not scared to say where I live, Omaha, Nebraska can anyone get this to work? I've used the default for omaha, and custom ones still can't seem to get it to work. Omaha is the largest city in NE so this should work no?

Ok finally got weather to work by doing another custom one and a soft reset. Thanks for the fix!

do you have the htc customizer installed as well.you can change the clock and zip locations with it.

Yeah I do, after the install I was trying to use that to change the clock and
do the weather, but nothing was working, the clock wouldn't change and the
weather was the same, so I did another soft reset, set the HHCustomizer
back to default saved and went back in to change the things again and it
finally changed and then I got the weather to work.

if you have ultimate launch on your phone you have to uncheck it and recheck the home plugin. than change the clock and all and than uncheck the home plugin and reactivate the ultimate launch....

no reason to have both you can integrate the home plugin into the UL so you can still use it and its an awesome launcher and way different tan htc. and hhc can still be used as i stated above.

ok dash im having problems with this and UL. i have a few diffrent themes on my phone, and HTC and UL were working fine then out of no where when i got to the HTC of the UL it freezes so i soft reset and same thing then i switch to a different theme and works again know why

well every time you switch a theme on your phone the settings for backgrounds and all in UL can get confused and casue the freeze. i havent experienced it myself i just get a different background but there are some that i have talked to that have dealt with the same..... so iguess just be sure to soft reset the beast everytime you change your theme.

oh unless it freezes thats weird you font have the launch on startup for either activesync or the home plugin checked do you?

ok well this is what happened just now it froze on me and i switched the theme again and did a soft reset and its froze when i get to HTC homeplugin so i dont the activate plugin on startup checked and the HTC home is slected un the UL and as for the today screen settings i have under them HTC tab all checked. the items tab i have non check except the UL on and for the apperance ihave the theme selected

lol sorry yeah those are the ones i have checked so pretty much the defaults except for the today screen which all are unchecked except for the UL box
