htc touch notification sounds

okay, i just got my 4GB microsd and i wanna add all my music. one problem though, all my notification sounds are showing up in my audio manager... is there a way to add them to some directory using resco? or even a utility that lets you choose the sounds from any directory?

the ringtones are going to show up in there no matter what i have tried i havent found a fix for this myself as if yet.... so i think that you are going to have to deal with it until a fix is found... you can always have it sort so the smallest files are at the bottom which would of cource be your ringtones.

Re: htc touch notification sounds

i found a way to fix this (for the most part)

convert your ringtones from mp3 to mp4. then rename the extention to .m4a (i do this using quicktime pro)

i put my Ringtones on my storage card in a folder named My Ringtones

** for my notification sounds, i used a file explorer (like resco) and moved them to the /windows directory in my phone memory. ---> now they will be available in the list when you go to Settings>Personal>Sounds&Notifications.

I also have a 4GB card and what I had to do was just move my notification sounds to the audio file on the card. Of course you can make any folder you want so its neat and identifiable...as long as it stays in the "main audio" part.

Then you can go to:

Settings>>Personal>>Sounds&Notifications>>Notifica tions

and set each sound individually.

Just wondering if someone can give me a better step by step on this...I've put my .mp3 that I want as notification sounds in the 'My Tones' folder, but they don't show up when I go Settings>Personal>Sounds&Notifications.

thanks
M.

edit: found it has to be in .wav form and I just drop in anywhere in the windows folder?

yup anywhere in the windows folder automatically resyncs anyways and orders them the way it wants to. aslo if you go on your storage card and make a folder called: (My Documents) (without the quotes) and than make another one in there called (My Ringtones) all your ringtones will be read and than you dont need to waste prescious space on the main memory.

thanks man...just one thing, do I need to download something like 'resco explorer' to be able to put files into my widows folder? Can't seem to do it otherwise.
