ok i searched didn't see for the mogul on here.i can't figure out how to copy and paste with.and i cant find file "welcomehead.96" with it.but with file explorer i find it.in the mogul its name is "welcomehead.96". now with file explorer when i drop in it says replace.i select yes.then it says it is protected that it cant replace.now i took my image i wanted."searched goolge on this article" just wanted to point that out.it said to take image open paint and save as png.i did this.how can i unprotect this file to change splash?

you need to use resco file explorer and you can overwrite the files... the stock file explorer wont do it for you since that file is part of the rom and all.

i would but forgive me if im missing something.I don't see a copy & paste option is resco? Am i missing it or something?

you tap and hold on the screen till you get those dots and than after that you will see a menu come up and it will say it there for you... just like you did with the original one and make sure you have it registered not sure if you can use it without registration being completed......

man its always the simple things i over look.lmao.its registered.been installed for awhile now.i will try what you said and report back.only question i have is for the mogul file should be 240 X 294 right? not 240 x 240?

yeah got it to work.mogul users note: size should be 240x320. when i did 240x294 it leaves a black space at the bottom of the image.that is taken up by softkey header for calender and contacts usually when running.
now i need that animated screen and htc's changed and im golden.^_^ any articles on that.

yup its posted here that consists of changign the registry and adding the file wanted into the windows folder.... search for splash screen and you iwll find how to do it.

here you go for the animated than made a mistake when i typed that in this will do it for you.

Basically you do not have to do any registry editing at all.. all I did was replace/overwrite the default sprint startup animation file..with yours.

1. Most important step is that the file has to be named the same as the original sprint one so name your file the same like that >> SPCS_startup

2. Gif animation has to be 240x320

3. use resco and you will be straiight

for the still image so other users can also do this what did you do registry wise to get the still image to change??

I can't figure out how to delete the original "welcomehead.96". I have rescoe, and I put the new image in windows folder and renamed. I just can't figure out how to delete the original. Also I can't figure out how to sync my two moguls independently. Any Ideas?

aLL U NEED TO do is... Find the image u want. Size the image to 240x320 and name the file. " welcomehead.96.png " (needs to be .png) Then copy the image to your card. then once on the card. copy from card to windows folder with RESCO FILE EXPLORER. It was ask u to replace. Click yes and sot rest..

I got everything up until the part where it asks you to replace. I've tried many times and it won't ask. I've copied, moved, everything. It will move and copy over, it just doesn't want to delete that original image.

that means you arent throwing it in the right place.. What ROM are you runing? The corect place to overwrite the file is device/windows folder in side the folder windows. Make sure you didnt drop the file in another folder inside of windows.

no jew...what i am willing to be he is doing is he didnt select the unhide propertys in resco...Go into resco options and change it so you can see rom attachments and so on..unhide things...

I think you're on to something Kaos.!! Are you talking about the Browser Options? If so do I un check everything that says hidden?

I GOT IT!!! Now. I have both files in the windows folder, but I still can't delete the original manually. I copied after the blue dots came up, then I pasted in the windows folder. It still did not give me the option to delete the original automatically. Does it make a difference if I move, or copy and paste?

You got me straight that time!!! Good looking out. I am not into the roms yet, still a noob(3weeks). Maybe a few more weeks of tinkering and i'll try.

i was pulling my hair out over this as well but i realized what my mistake was. When I converted the picture to png format on my computer, then renamed the file, I mistakenly renamed the png file to "welcomehead.96.png. I should have renamed the file "welcomehead.96" When i renamed the file to the "welcomehead.96.png, and put it in windows directory, it actually was placed in there as "welcomehead.96.png.png" Thats how it seemed to me that both files were in windows directory. So make sure u rename the folder to "welcomehead.96" minus the quotes
