DcD's 2.0.0_Beta Sprint..........
Here is DCD's new Sprint rom with the GPS. First here is the link to XDA for instructions and some other carriers(Verizon,Alltel).

I flashed it to my phone and had no problems but I also ran the new unlocker.Thanks DcD for your fast work.

UpDate* This is a C&S Rom from what I can see. Install went smooth after I used the unlocker. The only bug I see as of right now is a second antenna icon in the place where the EVDO/1x icon was. Not a big deal to me. I'm just glad not to have all the crapwear.
UpDate #2* The second antenna icon went away after first reboot and is now the EVDO/1x icon again.

as been discussed before please search it works great the problems are worked out from the last roms. this si a custom roms off of the leak that sprint let loose and DCD whipped this up off of that. the gps is awesome and the rev a internet speeds are bad ass. it is well worth updating since they talking bout pushing it back to march again.

r u serious??? look at the posts above this it activates the internal GPS on the mogul and also rev a speeds for the internet.

no this will not work on the touch it says for the mogul not for a touch. if you try to run this on the touch you will have a new paperweight.

do you know if there is a rom cooked up for the touch? or is anyone working on one? The touch and mogul have the same processor and gps right. keep me posted and let me know. I feel left out..lol

lol naw there is a different way that the files are brought up in the rom and thats all different from the mogul i doubt that we will ever see a new rom for the touch with the rev a until the official release comes out and all. so you might be feeling left out for a while lol. i traded my touch for a 360 elite modded to play burned games and all so im straight. i like the mogul much better than the touch overall though bro. make a trade for one many people would love to do that hit me up and i can get a trade going for your touch and get you a mogul.

I was so tempted to get the mogul man u don;t even kno. The only problem I got wit it is the low memory and the thickness. Other than that its a coo phone. But I guess Ill just be patient. Oh yea dash don't leave us touch owners hangin either now that u officially all mogul...lol....You guys have given the community much needed support that is well appreciated.

good to know tigerz. good to see u still on board. Ive been using windows live for directions but damn would I love turn by turn (sigh!). Imma keep the touch for now too but hey anything can change like the weather. I was kinda hopin Sprint would up their game and come out wit some more smartphones 1st quater of 2008. So imma sit back and watch things develope over the next month.

ummmmm under program files..... if you skipped the customization you will have to download the external om unlocker and download it manually.

your flashing a new rom image to your phone. a rom 2 images in it one for the radio and the other one is for the stuff that comes preinstalled on the phone including registry. when you run the exe from your computer while connected via activesync you are flashing them over to the phone giving yourself a brand new rom. but warning this does erase all data so back up the contacts and all that good stuff. hope this helps you understand this a lil better and be sure to hit the thanks button if it does.

to use this rom which is a custom fro mthe leaked rev a rom you need to unlock the bootloader so you can flash it over..... it wont work unless you unlock it. so if your not familiar with that or with the get out of bootloader app i would flash to the stock one becasue you can mess your phone up beyonf repair if you do these wrong.

well than dont do it if you dont feel comfortable. i do all flashing and also i do that an ll mods for a fee. there is a sticky thread under the mogul and the touch sections where you can get info on that too. but all this is sis run the exe file after you unlock the bootloader and than once done running run the exe file for the exitbootloader you will be straight. you go with the stock which i use all you dois run the exe file and follow the steps that it gives you and you will be fine. just leazve it alone and dotn pay attention to the sounds of disconnecting or pausing on numbers it is normal.

you need to be in bootloader mode to allow the phone to flash but it auto dies it for you during the process in the stock you just need to use the app in the custom to get out. this is all basic stuff bro that if you dont know or at least research some before doing you are risking it.

omg lol bro theres not much to know bout bootloader. it is the mode the phone goes in that allows you to be able to flash the phone to a new rom image.

Here is a record of my attempt to install on my Sprint Mogul.
And yes I got alittle too overzealous and did not find all instructions before attempting but it turned out ok

Downloaded initial EVDO GPS BETA (RUU_TITAN_SPRINT_WWE_3[1].16.651.0_435009_RS3_27_00_SPCS_NV124.exe) leak from Smartphonejunkie and rapidshare

Attempted install of DcD's 2.0.0_Beta Sprint REV A Rom

This got as far as rebooting the phone to the multi color red green blue black boot screen, then the installation progress indicator that never got past 0%.
The ROM installer on the computer notified me of the communication error and walked me through steps to recover which were. Unplug the USB cable, remove battery for 3 seconds, put battery back in, power on phone. At that point my phone booted fine as though nothing happened.

I tried this about 4 more times on a different computer each time, Vista (with Mobile device center) and XP SP2 (with Active sync 4.5 as guest) using two different USB cables all with the same results.

Downloaded zipped combo of files (6800.zip) designed to complete this update from rapid share (uploaded by Howardforums forum user) which included the Hard-SPL-MFG.exe, dcd's 2.0.0 ROM, and Radio 3.27.00

Installed Hard-SPL-MFG.exe (Ran just like ROM update), ran with no errors and left my phone in the multi color red green blue black boot screen, my phone would not boot at that point (found out later this is what its supposed to do).

I thought I had to fix the no phone boot so I tried holding the power button + camera button + reset hole button, and it booted right back to the multi color boot screen and no phone (I was a little worried at this point).

I though I would just dcd's 2.0.0 ROM from the 6800.zip I got from the howardforum link and it actually completed the installation despite the ROM update instruction I had on the computer prompting me to verify a successful Active Sync connection first, but it only booted afterward to the Sprint logo splash screen.

I tried dcd's 2.0.0 ROM install again, sensing all was lost anyway, why not REALLY kill it good, still only booted to the Sprint splash screen.

Then I tried the initial EVDO GPS BETA (RUU_TITAN_SPRINT_WWE_3[1].16.651.0_435009_RS3_27_00_SPCS_NV124.exe) leak, there was about a 2 minute delay before the install progress indicator actually got past 0% this time but it installed and it all worked.

My phone boots now.

I tested a phone call and it works.

Checked the antenna version, is 3.27

I tested internet and it seems about 2x faster, but it does seem to slow down often.

For some reason I am still not able to download Mobile live search (the best mapping software for windows mobile IMHO) on my phone for more than 2 days and perfect reception. I starts downloading but doesn't get any farther than 25% downloaded then fails to progress downloading. I had to download it on my computer first. All other downloads seem fine including google maps (second best). There is no proxy server setup on the phone so im not sure why this doesnt work.

GPS works PERFECT with Mobile Live search and Google maps.. It is awesome, extremely accurate, definitely within 10ft accuracy and easily updates every second. The satellite imagery keeps up just fine over EVDO. I did not have to tweak anything to make either of these apps use the GPS automatically, no need to start one program to "Prime" it first. Windows Live search ALWAYS finds the satellites quicker than Google so far (at least twice as quickly) and both are just as accurate positioning wise. Reception indoors doesn't work so well as expected. Both Live search and Google maps become very sluggish and often unresponsive when turning GPS position on and off. Live search and often takes about 15 seconds to load the initial satellite imagery. All in all it is a great GPS experience.

I've noticed often Pocket Internet Explorer connection takes about 5 seconds before "opening" the page, which kind of negates the whole faster speed thing.

The phone still works as a modem via US and Inet speeds at first seemed truly 2x faster but for the last few hours of last night it was more like standard EVDO, sometimes even slower. I haven't had much of a chance to test it out today but I'll post my finding again if anyone is interested.

Lastly I've experienced that the HTC Home plugin (HTC.Kaizer.Home.Plugin.with.Tabsetting.schen.cab) with the HTC Home customizer (HHCv10b5.zip) stops responding when saving changes although if I terminate it the changes are made.

In conclusion I am very concerned about my longer wait times to establish actual data transfer over the EVDO Rev A once connection is established (even though my EVDO connection is already running) and my few hours of slow inet. If you are concerned about my finding regarding the inet speed.. then please check back on the forum in a few days to make sure it wasn't just temporary slowness, I would hate to make the Sprint Mogul look bad. I really think its a great device and worth getting. overall the upgrade WAS worth it.

WOW!!!! Thanks for the review..... this saves me some time. i think that it was a temporary slowness in your area for the net since i have never seen anything like that happen and talking to a couple members on the site through palringo and they too didnt face this. but great review of the rom and really appreciate it. as you said google maps is great but the sprint navigation (which i got for free just have to call sprint and yell at them and they will at least give you a discount)is awesome and the turn by turn voice gps is awesome and responds quickly. once again thanks and hope that you enjoy Wckediden and hopefully will see you around here a lot in the future.

i started to follow that one guys instructions where he listed what he did but i just didnt understand what he was talking about
if i put my phone in bootloader mode and start to run the rom will it work
also does that unlocker thing that dash mentioned come with the download of the rom
and do i need to run that before or after putting my phone in bootloader mode
im sorry to ask im just so confused on this rom update

bro look in my signature you iwll see a tutorial on how to flash..... and do you realize how old this rom is????? i would recommend the newest kaos hybrid rom for your mogul....... new, up to date, and fast!!!!!

just follow the exact steps in his tutorial and you will be fine easy! make sure that you have downloaded winrar to your cpu as you will need it to extract files as in the nbh file that you will need to place in the ruu to run the rom after you have unlocked and put the correct radio on! easy way unlock run sprint update official and then kaos 3 or hybrid
