saving everything before new rom install
 
okay, im wondering if theres an easy way to make a back-up of everything i have installed, including all my contacts.

is there a way to bring everything back without having to re-install everything?

of course there is. for the email, contacts, calender, appointments you can get a free mail2web account from www.mail2web.com. all you have to do after a hard reset is setup the email again and than choose them from the sync list and your good to go. there is a tutorial i wrote on here for that just search for free direct push email and you will be straight. or you can use a program found here called sprite backup and you run a backup and than you save the backup to your storage card than do your hard reset or flash and than you go to the storage card and run the exe and it does its thing and restores everything back onto your phone!!!! really easy to do. i hope this helps in your quest...

Even if you upgrade to a new ROM? I know that the PIM will backup, but would the programs that were backed up work on a different ROM?

sometimes they do sometimes they dont it all just depends on the rom and how it wants to act.
