Great program. But when I go to nytimes website it automatically takes me to the mobile version. any one know a way to disable that function?

i don't think there is prolly a way. i don't use opera so i have no clue. but my best guess for you would be to look under option or something like that from the browsers menu while open.

I haven't used this version of Opera, but its probably the same: Menu > Tools > Settings > Drop down menus under 'Identify as' then select desktop computer.

Re: Opera 9.5 beta QVGA edition

Ok, I just checked this out on my phone. Yeah this one is different, it give you mobile versions on certain sites (espn.com is one). But, it doesnt have the 'Identify as' setting for some reason, which is pretty stupid that the older version had more options. But, also this one runs SOOO much better on my HTC Touch.... I asked about this issue on the Opera forums, if I can get an answer I'll relay it here

i shoul show u but oyu can use pocetmechanic pro and try that but there no reason that it shoulnt be under the list unless you tried to uninstall and than it told you that it had to reset to finish nntalling immeiately and you delined... but it should be there.

Re: Opera 9.5 beta QVGA edition

Like Dash said.... In my Touch it is listed as "Opera Software Opera" in my remove Programs list.

Re: Opera 9.5 beta QVGA edition

Oh yeah, also regarding your previous post about website versions. I never got a response from Opera forums, but I did discover that websites that are redirected to another address are the ones that took me to mobile versus regular version. For example, if I entered 'espn.com' Opera took me to the mobile version. But, if I entered the full address 'espn.go.com' it was taken to the full version of ESPN.com.

This program does cause me to have to soft reset a lot if I use it frequently... I dont know if thats bad for the phone or not, but it is an annoyance.

Just wanted to give my imput.

I used this for a bit, but I had problems when I needed to enter information such as usernames and passwords and when I tryed to change my home page. I would type one letter and two would appear, I had to type out passwords in mobile office and copy and paste. Could be my keyboard (PCM) I have had problems with in in the past, but just wanted to put it out there.

I agree. Aside from that, n:40: uninstall option. N:40: way to change default browser. Steals file formats such as htm, Ico and a lot more that I havn't discover yet. I say wait for the full release. This will mess up a lot of things in your phone. If you're eager to try this release, search for the version that has uninstall option. I think I got it as xda.

Unless you are talking about something I dont know about, Opera mini runs through Java if thats what you mean. It is on here if you search. I have both this and Opera Mini right now and I like mini a little more than this... it a little faster.

this si opera and your questions with picsel has nothign to do with this in the future post in the picsel after doing a search since this has been discussed before. you will need the skunk flash bundle to get youtueb to work for you. next post in the wrong area will result in a infraction. Thanks for understanding.

Re: Opera 9.5 beta QVGA edition

This is mentioned in the Thread already...this is the uninstall version. Once you install it you can not delete...manually deleting Opera file will result in a error message when clicking on links in emails/texts, because it sets itself as the main brower.

Has anyone had the problem of not being able to enter spaces when inputting data with this version of opera? I use touchpal and have tried all the other input methods and they all work great outside of opera but I can't insert spaces at all in the browser...

Re: Opera 9.5 beta QVGA edition

if anyone is having trouble with uninstalling this, the only way you can uninstall it is to go in and delete all the opera files. I have another CAB that i am going to edit dashs first post with that enables an uninstall function as well. You can try to install this version over the old version and see if it works, but it will most likely say "unsuccessfully installed" type thing. Good luck to you all.

I've had some on screen keyboard issues when I used this with my Touch. It seemed some weren't compatible, but I used to use the Swcked Full screen keyboard and that was ok, but I think it was the PCM Keyboard that would always add extra spaces

The patched install will not overwrite the regular opera because the install fails however i want someone to try something for me to see if it will work. Try going into the registry and deleting the HKLM/Software/Opera folder all-together then installing the patched over the old version. See if it lets you install it then. If that works than you can just run the uninstall and it should fix everything for you. Just a thought i was having the other night for those who dont want to hard reset. I already hard reset mine to fix this issue so I can't test it. Good Luck!
