I tried to go to a website tonite using pie and also picsel but the sites needed java and wouldnt work. the java listing on the touch is worthless. how do I install java on the touch and where do I get it from?

theres a built in java emulator on the touch. what kind of site are you trying to access????

its a state website. thats really not the issue. I dont know how to get java to run on the touch. I clicked the java thing and it opened a window that didnt make sense. I just want the darn thing to work so is there an easy way to make it work? it shouldnt be this complicated anyway, it should just work the way java does on the desktop. its absurd.

dont get mad at me now bro i am trying to help you. a ppc and a pc is different. you can expect this small ppc to do everything that a computer does. i dont know of a way but lets see if anyone else has an answer for you.

the reason that java doesnt work correctly is because it isnt there. if you read the manual also it says nothing about it being built in and being able to work on the phone.... it mentions the emulator for game play and all but nothing bout it working on the net.

does the touch by verizon have the java emulator to play java games cause i cant find it i looked in programs and settings and nothing bout java please let me know how to get java on my phone im running wm6 i copyed over a .jar file and it said no program assosiated with this file exsits.thanxs for the help..

if you really want java in web that bad buy ThunderHawk by bitstream... its a web browser that has full support for java enabled websites. Bitstream makes it which means its uncrackable because they make everything mobile go through their own proxy to check your device info.

i hit the thanxs but it wouldnt let me rep u so sorry but it said the installation of ibm midp 2.0 java emulator v2.3.cab was unsuccessful. does my phone have to be unlocked to install it?

does anyone know how to get gps to work on the touch and what gps program to install bc i cant find one at all

bro for your phone you would need to flash sprints than go custom.... you can find the step by step tutorial in my signature below...... and any gps program will work with your phone.... the most popular ones are garmin and tom tom here. im going to have to leave an infraction though since this doesnt deal with the topic of java like the thread was made for.

I installed the IBM MIDP 2.0 I have no idea how to use the emulator....I brings me to a screen with [URL: ] and from there I am not sure what to do to Do i go to a website? Maybe its cuz I have no java games?

right basically you install and than run your java program that you are wanting to run and than the emulator will open up and let you play the game or use the java application.

Oh ok ! I figured it out Oregon Trail is really choppy and slow on the pro and gives me an error if i play it with sound...learn something new everyday...thanks man appreciate it...
