What is Pocket SportsCenter?

Pocket SportsCenter is an app that allows you to track your favorite sports and teams directly on your Treo or any Windows Mobile device (in theory!) It also supports automatic update/refresh and display of sports scores
on the carrier line on your today screen, either in the carrier line or in the separate Billboard today plugin developed by zbop!

This will display each score for a set period of time (2-5 seconds for example), then move on to the next score in a cycle, and update the scores based on the update interval you specify (1 minute, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, or 2 hours)

-- Tap support for the Billboard Today plugin to quickly:
+ Activate/Deactive auto updates on the today screen
+ Pause autoupdates while the scores continue to cycle through.
+ You can also access the main app from the plugin.
+ Access GameTrax scoring, stats, lineup etc in PIE for NFL and MLB!

how do i get the scores too update quickly, i got da program last night and this mourning it still says the lakers and dallas are in the 3rd quarter lol

lol just click on the scores on the today screen and go down to where it says launch pocket sports center and click on that. then highlight setup options and hit ok with the left soft key or on the screen, then go down to where it says set today update period and choose the timing on the update then click ok and then go down and hit exit.....but remember the faster you choose to update the faster your battery will drain b/c it gets online for it to retrive the scores and schedules... have mine every hour

question, i have my nba and mlb too update every half hr but it doesnt seem to do so, theres nba on right now and i have yesturdays scores still, is there a setting in the update period and update endtime to fix this or what should it be at thanx ahead

huh odd have yout tried to manually update and see if that fixes the problem for you. and do you have autoupdate turned on???

i do have it on auto update every half hr and when i do it manually, it stil da scores from last night, i think the problem maybe in the auto update start time and end time, which is confusin cuz the 30 min i put should do it no need for another update option.. wa do u think is up thanx again

have you tried like i sayid above to click on the auto update and make sure that it is enabled.

yea trust me a im a huge sports fan, i do it all da time too make sure, i love da program juss i wish i had my scores correct when i check, sometimes i have too go online 2 see wat the real score is. does your work? or if anyones work, what are your settings

i used to use it but not anymore i just use my rss feed and the setting dont matter all i did was just update every hour and than enable the auto update.

whenever i do a soft reset or restart, i always get a error message for the pocket sportscenter, it says error, unable to connect to the internet.. may this be why i cannot get the auto update too work all da time? i do have unlimited data and internet, ive uninstalled and reinstalled and it still happens any reason why?

Alright, what am I doing wrong here?

It installed fine and I can bring up the settings and have selected all my preferences. But where do the scores show up?

God...I hate feeling like an idiot!!!! :)

this program seemed quite buggy to me, always had errors & seemed to use up a shit ton of memory. i uninstalled this & it gave me like 3-4mb program memory back.. pretty sure i wont use this again, but i luv the concept of a customizable sports ticker.. goo cubbies!

Yes sir, I do realize that.

The only thing that shows up is some bolded type that says, "Sports AutoUpdate Activated"

I can click on it and chose 1 of 4 options, but I see nothing else.

Yes, I chose 3 teams.....Lakers, Celtics, Dodgers.

than i have no clue why it wouldnt be working.... maby you have towait for one of the teams to start playing for the day and all.... when i used i never did by teams.

Is there a program that displays the actual scrolling ticker from ESPN (with scores, news, ect.) at the bottom of your screen? From reading the description it doesn't really seem like thats what this program is, but im not too sure..

its exactly what it does it wont be exact but you can pick your sports and even specific teams if you would like.

to me it doesnt matter if an application is popular its what i like...... make your phone what you like and find useful and you will be happier than using what others use.

Installed on ppc 6800 and works great - updates were about 45 seconds off live version. AMAZING!!! Nice app!
