Alltel running Sprint Rom
 

Okay so I have officially unlocked my alltel phone and flashed sprints 3.35 rom(what an adventure like losing virgintiy) My! My ? is how does this affect me with alltel? I just opened my sprint navigation and instead of dialing on an alltel line it dialed on a sprint line. So nothing changes as far as my alltel account right and I will not be getting a bill from sprint:swoon2: hopefully. Thats it just curious since I'm new to this.

nope you will not be getting a bill from sprint what so ever and you soft reset to avoide the customizations in the beginning correct.

ya I soft reseted the phone. so then today I realized with sprint I lost my mms which is okay cause gps is way better. so now I can flash kaos rom because I have the sprint radio and rom right? also if I want to go back do I have to unlock the phone again to flash the alltel rom then relock if I want to stay?

yup you can go to the kaos **** sprint rom whenever you wanna flash over without any problems. and no you will not have to relock your phone to go back to the alltel rom. but you will have to use the titan relocker tool to relock your phone before going back to the stock rom.

Do you have to soft reset when the customization starts with both the radio rom and the Kaos rom or with just one of them?

I just noticed that there is a new Alltel rom for the HTC PPC6800 on the HTC web site at http://www.htc.com/us/FAQ_Detail.aspx?p_id=63&act=sd .

How would one find out if this update enables the GPS and includes WM6.1?

It would be nice to have working mms but I too don't want to give up GPS functionality.

it shouldnt ask you to customize on Kaos Build 420 take 2.... ! You still have to take the battery out and do what the rest of the instructions say

no its just more stable and quicker. we have it here already as of yesterday and one review on it. so if you flash you will lose rev a and the gps.

I've been using DCD's 3.0.1 rom (Alltel version) with radio rom 3.35.04 for about 2 months, and love it.. I HIGHLY Recommend for the Alltel users on this site... GPS works perfectly along with everything else.. The only small problem that I haven't checked into is that I have to always use someone's area code when dialing, even local calls... No big deal..

just out of curiosity how are you running an alltel rom and a different radio? never heard of that. right now Im running kaos rom #2. I'm happy with except losing my mms...i mean you dont miss till its gone right!

you can flash any providers mogul radio that you want to onto the phone.

dude use the picture mail hack from the treo..it was only blocked on sprint still works on alltel..

well what is this rom all about then(http://www.htc.com/us/FAQ_Detail.aspx?p_id=63&act=sd). Im not understanding how you can just update the radio also? how would I flash to this new alltel rom and then be able to do an update to the sprint radio?

judt relock the phone if you unlocked and than run the exe and follow the steps. than do a search for the 3.35 radio and you flash the same way as a rom and than you will have the 3.35 radio on it.

hey i switched from kaos sprint rom to dcds 3.0.1 to get a more alltel friendly rom(picture messaging and gps). Two problems im having(i went to mobile ppc apps and searched for dcd 3.0.1 couldnt find or i would post there) on my mms it shows up and lets me attach but when I send it always says it fails....also im with hotmail so when i try and setup my email account it always tells me to click the windowslive link and wont let me just click on a hotmail link so that i can sync my emails......last one why do you guys not build off of alltel roms for mms and just use sprints radio since we all know sprint is whack....................:Flush:ing is what your doing to my account right now...

you could of just installed the old treo mms hack that use to work for sprint it would of worked for alltel....and gps still works fine bro i use garmin daily....for 10 hr periods...we use sprint cause sprint is what i have...lol at least thats why i use it.

well the only problem i had with your rom was battery life it would never get a full charge...also i searched and it could be me because i just typed in palm treo mms...but i could not find..also with your rom i could not get my email to sycn either...other than that i liked yours...miss the sounds and features...let me know the fixes thnx
