YOUTUBE player, not VTAP but even better!

• .NET CF v2.0

YouTube Player is YouTube search/player application which featuring full FLV. Bit like the latest CorePlayer.
It allows you to search for videos in a nice friendly Windows Mobile app and then plays the full FLV video (not miniscule MPEG4 versions) with its own player.

The app is written in a mixture of .net and C so you need the .net runtime, v2.

The video player overlay is hacked out of TCPMP and the FLV part is based on FFMPEG.

New black look
Removed buttons, added toolbar
VGA portrait support (only testing in emulator)
Click on video for fullscreen
Backlight keepalive

Things planned: Support for all YouTube feeds, logons. Saving/loading FLV to/from file

Things not planned: Other video sites

Known issues: Sometime crashes downloading thumbnails (rarely), landscape mode not right

Everybody should note that this application will eat bandwidth, no consideration has been made for data consumed, so Wifi/ActiveSync or unlimited 3g only, be prepared for a big data bill otherwise. Won't work well on GPRS anyway as FLV vids are quite sizeable.

youtubeplay v1.0.0.7 updated 12/5/08, changes:

Fix - Crash when switching to play video (problem on Kaiser ROM "Mobile Vista v1.3" and maybe others)
New - Added AppToDate support - had to change download location to my server
Fix - Can now reliably retrieve up to 50 results
New - Reverted config and results forms back to non fullscreen to enable SIP and menu
New - Hardware keys - dpad up/down = vol up/down, dpad right = ffwd, dpad left = back

So if I have downloaded "FLV" files from other "You****.com" websites, then this player will do fine with playing them, I assume...?

What Im thinkin is that this is www.ytpocket.com and if you have the latest TCPMP and the flash bundle all available for download through your phone with cab files and you can play all youtube videos which are searchable/playable through www.ytpocket.com

Has anyone had a problem in this program with the videos not buffering all the way and freezing up while viewing?

Nope....no problems at all! I love this application!! Its the only player where "my youtube videos" come up in a search & I can show people when i'm out! It runs smooth on my phone & I haven't had ANY buffering problems.

why does it only bring up like 4 videos though? i didnt see a place where there was page 2, etc.? thats my only downfall other than that its nice with the full screen and all!

my youtube player doesn't work anymore... a message comes up and it goes away... it doesn't even work for my coreplayer anymore.. is ther anything i can do... i tried re downloading it and everything... thanxs in advance...

i dont normaly have questions but i have one now, hope im posting in the right place...
i just flashd my rom the the stock wm6.1 and now cant get youtube play to work.. it like loads cuz i see the wait cursor but nothing happens...what could it be ?

I went too the sprint store today and had them upgrade my rom to the 3.03.651.4 wm6.1 and now I cannot get the corplayer too work. It saying , unexpected program failer, send crash txt to developer. what do I need too do? Thank you.

it doesnt work on that phone bro......... im not sure if there is a patch for it yet but someone may lnow... i dont use the application.

its the stock 6.1, it doesnt play with alot of aps. ie tcpmp/youtube play .. u need to flash a custom rom, it can/may ruin ur dvice but i love it!! i say get KAOS **** sprint 420 take 3 rom, then do a search for 'TCPMP fix' ..BE SURE TO FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS WHEN INSTALLING .CAB'S, SOFT REST WHN INSTRUCTED! also check out DASH'S sig.. and itll show u how to flash... good luck!

Thanks bro this rom hella sucks, im havin all kinds of problem with this new rom, it keep freezin, and sprint did the upgrade for me, I took it too them so I wouldn't jack up my phone, I thought this would be better

no problem bro that what staffs here for...i recommend thiat rom, its what im using... till the next one coms out when ever that is, but for now, id flash.. custom roms r clean/fast... i was worried about flashing my 1st time but im glad i took the risk...

there is a fix. Do a search for tcmp and use the Kaos Take 3 fix!!! FYI!!
