uh O thinking I could get my contact list and apps back I did a sprite restore.. Put me back to the old ROM.....Sigh...... Ok no prob, backed up my contacts on outlook and here we go again.....

Well got it loaded and went to bed without messing around to much last night.

First thing I noticed this morning was that my phone was locked??? it wanted a passcode and I have never set one so I tried 0000,1111,1234, ect. Nothing worked so I tried a soft reset. Presto, came right up first thing I did was go to Start/Settings/Lock It showed the automatic being turned off but to be on the safe side I set a passcode anyway and turned the autolock to 24hrs.

Next thing I noticed was my Roam indicator was flashing. I did do a *228 option 2 last night so I tried a soft reset again... that changed nothing so I just called alltel tech support. Got ahold of a real nice guy that told me as far as he new Alltel had NOT Released REV. A......

I told him I got it straight from HTC's web site which he checked, and confirmed it was there. He told me that he had nothing on Alltel releasing REV. A and it had not even been activated on their network. Whatever...

He did recommend trying *228 option 3 activate phone which I did and that fixed my roaming problem.

So for my review... Cant tell alot of difference on the internet. a little maybe. But I trade alot of MMS with my friends, jokes and such and they load TONS faster almost as fast as SMS. B4 it took forever to load one so this seems to be a major improvement.. And super easy to do. Just remember to back up everything on your PC...LOL

I am sure most of you guys already knew all of this but maybe it will save another NooB like me a little frustration..

Thanks for posting this. I just flashed Kaos' rom and the only problem I had was with the flashing roam indicator. Your post helped me fix it right up.

I'm a very happy, addicted rom flasher now.

P.S. Thanks for posting the stock ROM D/\SH. Alltel removed it from their support site about a month ago. That's the reason I had not tried flashing yet. I didn't want to try it until I had a copy of the stock ROM to go back to in case of problems.
