well basically geek squad screwed me over and said when i signed for my computer to get fixed that i gave HP the ok to fix it. well a damn screen they are trying to charge me $801.32 for!!!! i cant afford that and that means it stays there untile i can. but as i told the guy why would i pay that much when i can get a new one for that price with warrenty!!!! so im screwed since i have to bring my dads laptop over back to him in 3 days for when he goes back to work. so unfortunately i must leave my family here in 3 days until i can get some money saved. it could be anywhere from 3 months to 7-8 months for me to save up the cash to get a new one since i have student bills that need to be paid and all also since im still a college student. i seriously do love you guys and love how you have accepted me even though i do gt fusterated and can get snappy at times. Thanks for that and i will be back after this three day period when i get me a new laptop for school and of course my baby Wckediden. so im gonna make these last three days golden for us!!! Thanks my family and gonna miss you all during this long period.

yeah i know but no way for this one they wanted the money for the repair or no computer you know and i cant BS someone to their face only over the phone it sux im cursed.

yeah cool only problem is that i dont have any phones that i can get at yu with forcthe lappy..... all i have is the instinct that i can part with right now since my family is using my other phones. andi can get in huge troubles and face time if i let that phone ou of my hands before release date..... but thansk again for hte offer i wish that i could since i really need a laptop.

ahh broski thanks for the offer but i hate borrowing suff from people because if someting were to go wrong with it i would feel horrible and be in the same boat but double lol...... its all go ill find some way to get the cash and all just might take a while...... can log on at work but no programs due to the blocks and all on all the file sharing sites...... so i guess if i dont figure out something in these 3 days i will have to let my secrets out to the staff on how i find everything..... many different ways.

for some reason Dash...this just doesn't make sense to me and for some reason it is bothering me...kinda like how best buy bothers me,lol...if you used to work at best buy, I don't understand how you would sign something at geek squad where you would authorize for them to fix whatever was wrong with your laptop without knowing what the cost would be...I know I have seen some of those geeksquad guys ask people to sign something without really explaining everything to them about what they were signing...and if you worked there, I'm sure you would know better...but u seemed surprised about paying that amount...and I'm guessing you did not have a accidental PSP or regular PSP, if you have to pay for the issue...just humor me Dash, did you know or were explained to about what u signed and that you would be responsible for whatever amount it would cost to fix issue...because best buy is supposed to charge you to run a diagnostic if you don't have a PSP...but they are deifinitely supposed to tell you how much something will cost or best estimate before they work on something or send it out to be serviced...

ahhh, damn man...dam it cost like over $600 and up to replace a laptop screen through big retailers...I know a company that does it for about $300 and does a great job as well. But the geeksquad guys did tell you how much it would cost to replace a cracked screen right, because if they didn't then you can take action against them...I know it exactly what you can do...I have been told by some geeks what is needed to be done if you were not informed of how much it would cost...but if you wanna give up on that...than good luck to you buddy and I will donate to the site and you to support you bro...

Verbal agreements are not accepted, what has to happen is you have to sign a consent form stating that you are willing to pay price X for the repairs. The initial consent form states that you give permission to have them look over the laptop. If they don't have a written consent, then they are up shit creek without a paddle!

that sucks... I know at radioshack we tell people exactly what they are signing... It is a law that you are entitled to a copy of anything you have signed, so get them to make copies, and read through. Maybe you just might get lucky. So if you can't pay for this, best buy will keep your laptop? I would tell them I am dissatisfied with the service, take your screen out of it, and I want it returned to me in the same condition I gave it to you in.

LOL... I know that feeling! Ran in to a simialer situation with HP. Here is what i have done in the past many of time for my clients. Go to google. Type repair laptop screens. On the result page you should see on the right side a column of websites. Call them all up until you get one of them to give you the part number of the pc's screen. Act like you wanna buy a screen from them.. Ask for the part number. Then EBAY the part number! You should find it for a good price. And i have repaired screens MANY of times. SONY laptop screens are the worst, but others are extremely easy. I dont see why you would have a problem at all repairing it yourself considering you updated the RAM on your phone! Just a thought... i am here for you brada and feel ya pain!

well, Dash...did you read what you were signing...cause if you didn't, you really should have known better man...and that other person is right, one employee's word against yours is not good enough, but if you signed something that states a charge for a specific service, than to bad...but the geeksquad only gets you to sign stuff for initial diagnostic checks, so it protects them from erasing personal and pertinent data on your pc...but to in order to repair something they would have had to create a service ticket for that and you would know how much it would cost to repair your device...I'm gonna pm you so info. that I wanna keep between me and you and tell me the whole story man because I feel like I am not hearing the whole story....oh yeah and would people please proof read what they write because it irks the hell out ofme when people mispell their entire paragraph..its cool for a couple of words... but come on people, a whole post,lol...almost all of us on here is in college or some type of student, right, so come on...and simplyput is a teacher, so you know she ain't feelin' this,lol

i have an older HP laptop (Pentium IV - 2.66Mhz) sitting on my desk at home. It needs a new hard drive and a new CDrom (which i was going to get from ebay). If you're interested, I'll buy the hardware, get it fixed and ship it to you for a loaner until you can get something else. It would probably take me a week or two at the latest.

thanks guys for the suport through hours f cussing oout corporte already this morning i got proofy that he did slip a word ordr behind so i igned bth of them...... the date was the same and there is no way to have an estimate that fast and also on top of that the signature was the exact same..... so they are taking the screen off and than giving it back to me the way that it was with all info still intact........ so i guess until i can find a good price on a screen and a install of it i will just use vga cords to the tv when it comes back into best buy with my old screen lol.

yeah when i get it back ill post up the model number of the screen its a 17 inch screen and all than we as Wckediden can go on hunt for the best screen so i can go on the net at places besides home..........
