Real Player For PPC
 

Hey guys. I found this today. it real player for windows mobile. you can play streaming video and audio of the real player format and a few other formats. it can also play local files.

If you have problems installing it from the PC, like I did, you will need to extract the CAB file and manually install it on the PPC. (it will say 'you need active sync 3.1 or greater' even if u already do)


Solution here:

Run the setup file and let it unpack the files into the temporary folder.
Dont close the real player install window on the PC, it will auto-remove the cab
Locate the cab file from the folder Local Settings\Temp within your personal profile.
now close out the real player install window on the PC
Copy the cab file to your PDA.
Install it directly on the PDA by tapping on the cab file within the file explorer program.
That should solve the problem.

1.you need to have 'show hidden files folders' enabled. (open anyfolder, goto tools, folder options.. , view tab, check 'show hidden files and folders')

2. local settings\temp <--(usuall C:\documents and settings\'loginname'\local settings\temp)

included in the zip is Real Player for PPC 1.0 and 1.1 preview release .exe

im testing it out and so far its a nice smooth looking player but im testing the version 1.1 and having trouble opening my mp3 or video files (error) it has a link to the RealOne site on the bottom or the player and i believe that its mainly used to download the and view RealOne video clips available there (realplayer media files)

***UPDATE* this app kinda sucks guys, sorry for wasting your time.
!!! Even when you uninstall the Real Player it lease so trash behind that need to be removed manually with a regeditor and advanced file explorer (resco file and reg editor) !!!

ya post kinda old, but theres better players out there now. Use the search and you'll find some good ones.
