AIM for Windows Mobile (Beta)

http://beta.aol.com/projects/aimwinm...%20AIM%201.png

What is AIM for Windows Mobile?

AIM for Windows Mobile brings all of the best features of AIM on your PC to your Windows Mobile smartphone! AIM for Windows Mobile lets you communicate whenever you want, wherever you are, in whatever way suits you best - IM or text. Update your AIM status and information when you're on the go. Change your conversation style, manage your Buddy List, and much more. AIM Windows Mobile Smartphone has many of the same key features and a familiar look-and-feel of the desktop AIM client.

Please note: This build of AIM Mobile does not have an Update Mechanism available. This means you will have to return to beta.aol.com and check if a new build of AIM for Windows Mobile is available. The Update Mechanism will be included in a future build.

Supported Devices: AIM for Windows Mobile is supported by ALL Windows Mobile 5 and Windows Mobile 6 devices. Some examples are:

* T-Mobile Wing
* Sprint Mogul and HTC Touch
* AT&T Blackjack II, Tilt
* Sprint Samsung ACE
* Motorola Q
* Verizon Wireless 6800
* Most Palm Treo's

*U.S. only. AOL Mobile services

Looks very interesting, will try it.

I just installed it and used it. I must say, It's eye candy is an A+.
It looks even better than the Sidekick's AIM. You can see buddy icons, and the animations switching tabs are great.

However, it is slow. Not fast enough. I like Mundu better because of the fact when people are talking to you, it appears that you are on a PC rather than Unconfirmed internet, or Cell phone.

If this program can be upgraded to run better, it's a winner.

looks great...I have been waiting for aim to step up their game for the smartphone/ppc platform...I mean I hate all these client programs like palringo, slick, mundu, you name it I hate it...I have been using AIM 2.0 on my ppc...which is old as hell and as not been u;dated since 2000, but it served the purpose and gave me those classic AIM sounds automatically that I have learned to love...but now AIM has released something new that is not for only
T-MOBILE. Yo, I'm bout to collapse,lol...great find to original threader for keeping eyes pealed and sharing this good news...

yeah, I installed it, and used it for like 2 minutes and it wowed me for those 2 minutes and like alot of other programs, itlost my attention. It is definitely beautiful and aesthetically it definitely sh%ts on all other AIM clients, but it is a bit slow, like some people have said...but hey, its a "BETA," and betas are not supposed to be perfect.

And yeah I do live in Philly...why?

it depends...if you just want to chat then i suggest palringo bc it's not just AIM, but also a whole bunch of other IM clients so its really up to you....if you're gonna be using all the features that are AIM specific then you might wanna try this out

Re: AIM for Windows Mobile (Beta)

this aim runs really slow on the mogul
it leaves you with almost no memory
i have 5mb when this is open and only this is open

Palringo is obviously more stable and runs more fluently. This program is a Beta. The UI is better looking than any other IM Program for a PPC right now.

That's the only thing, they need to work on it.
