Here is my Custom rom based off the new Official Sprint rom, thanks goes out to DCD![/COLOR][/SIZE][/B]


*Before flashing this rom....*

-You MUST unlock w/ ImCokeMan's v2.31 unlocker

-I recommend Flashing the Official Sprint rom .exe to upgrade your radio to 3.42.30 (skip post-flash Customization if you're non-Sprint)(If you are a Sprint user, let the Customization run)

-Now you can flash my rom :smile:

CE OS 5.2.19208 BUILD 19208.1.0.1

PagePool is set to 16, I've included the pagepool change if you would like to modify....personally, I have mine set to 24.

For the time being, this will be the only rom I'll be releasing. I may possibly cook some carrier specific roms in the future.

Here is a clean version, carrier customization has been replaced w/ User Customization. None of the carrier customizations have been added (Telenav, Sprint TV, Opera, Live Search, etc), but all the cabs are in \windows.

ok been running for almost a day and love this rom!!!! this is very stable the net is blazing fast and the gps locks right when i open the program..... i dont even see connecting through google maps!!!! i highly recommend this rom for any vogue user.

not at the moment but you can run this and during the customization just soft reset before they start.

yes just follow the steps to flashing and make sure that your bootloader is unlocked.

Ok...I think im going to give this ROM a try...lol it seems like im updating ROMs once a month.

So I checked out all the programs that come with this ROM and most of them are the same as the previous OMJ ROM from 5/08.

My specific question is how does this 3.03 radio differ from the previous radio version for a verizon network phone.

3.03 is not the radio version...it's that this is OMJ 3.03 Touch ROM the radio is 3.42 and is contained in the sprint official ROM which must be flashed first and then this one this radio is just an updated radio version for faster gps locks, better signal, etc.

Hi Dash.

I guess I'm further outdated than I thought. I did the unlock a while ago to upgrade my Verizon Touch to 3.37.10 which I was successfull in doing.

Then I ran the Verizon Rom listed in this thread:

So I think I need to upgrade my radio. Where can I do that?

like i said to get this updated radio you have to flash to the newest sprint official ROM which is linked in the first post...you can do this just make sure you soft reset before sprint customizations run, then you can flash to this ROM soft resetting before sprint customizations again

OK...I just want to run through what I am going to do (dont want to screw things up)...

I have run the 2.31 unlocker before when I upgraded to the 3.37 radio and since then when I have been doing ROM updates (updating with the new OMJ stuff as they come along) I have not been unlocking...I have basically been running the OMJ download file and skipping the customizations...and that has worked great.


This time I am upgrading to the new radio first (using the link at the top of DASHs post)...do I need to run the unlocker before I run that download? (If I do... what do I do after the unlocker runs?...I ask because I forgot)...If I dont need to run the unlocker then what I think I would need to do is just run the file ... skip spring customizations...then at this point my radio would be 3.42 instead of my current 3.37....then I would run the OMJ file at the bottom of DASHs post and again sprint customizations...



So I guess the part im confused about is if I need to run the unlocker this time or not.

Well I think I got a grip on it...the first file is the Radio Update Utility (RUU) which updates my current 3.37 radio --> 3.42...then I dont want sprint customizations so i skip that step and then I run the second OMJ file and then again I dont want sprint customizations so I skip that step..

My only question I guess is if I need to run the unlocker utility first before all of this....because I ran that utility before when I was upgrading to 3.37. (is it something you have to run everytime you want to upgrade the radio...or is a 1 time thing where once your unlocked you are always unlocked)

yep...as tar ingeniously pointed out...it states cleary in the first post to unlock using ImCokeMan's v2.31 unlocker before flashing the sprint ROM with the updated radio and/or the OMJ 3.03 ROM

for some reason both the custom and clean roms take quite some memory, i used to get 71-73 megs free post hard reset with all my preveous roms but with these i get like 66-65, what gives??? i dont have the task manager that shows processes so i have no clue whats taking up so much memory, at first i thought it was all the apps included but the clean version was about the same... what gives???

not that its a big problem.... duhh i have a TOUCH!!!!!!!! :brows:

any ideas???

well broski has a touch, he used to have a mogul and probably just havent updated it. you can use common sense. plus a lot of ppl have more than one phone.

shit I kno, im gettint the same thing, with the official rom i get way more ram left after but who cares, im using the clean version and im liking it do far especially the 1% battery increments which his older one and the official rom dont have. and he is right by super clean version, b/c it is stripped lol, but it would lead me to believe the reason is also b.c of the reg edits he added which seemed like he did alot sooooo maybe its thats. like we can tether with internet sharing

Yea i have 2 phones both mogul and touch, one for work and the other personal

because the WM6.1 release official through sprint is quite a chunker...... even if you flash the stock rom that they released you dont get much........ i think that sprint compressed the files in a different way.

ok i just got done flshing the rom. this is my second rom i downloaded. well it worked fine for like 20mins except i couldnt get a good gps signal said it was weak. so i did a quick reset, and now its like horrible. i cant enter my txt messages none of my keyboards pop up. like my phones running ultra slow. anyone have any input on this, ill greatly appreciate it.

uhh no that didnt come up on the directions. like after i flashed the radio, i extracted the (OMJ.3.03.Custom.Sprint) rom onto my desktop, and i click just clicked ROM update utility. was i supposed to mess with all the other things i extracted from the (OMJ.3.03.Custom.Sprint) rom? sorry im new at this.

um no, you are supposed to flash to the official vogue rom with radio 3.47. and then flash to this rom and after do what dash said to do above and your set.

well i did a hard reset and my custom rom was still there after i let it customize and stuff i tried this twice. and i been messing with it and its better now. it seems to be working properly. thanks for the help.

i have a problem with my touch it keeps restarting by itself. this started wen i flashed to the omj rom i had the original sprint one you guys posted earlier in the month. and it was working fine. so did i do something wrong this time?

i followed the steps it just kept turning of after bout a min of use. i tried to flash it back to the sprint upgrade rom but would only go 29 percent then gave me an error. dun that bout 9 times, now running on reggie wm6.:40: if anybody can please hook me up and let me know what i did wrong. side note my phone would stay on if a left it sync'd wit comp

first of all did you unlock your phone and second of all did you flash the new leaked official sprint rom you will need both of those on your phone in order for this to work...... and if your at WM6 i feel that you didnt follow the steps in order to get this rom to flash correctly.

how do i know if i bricked it.. i tried the process but now it say no radio on the bottom of my htc mobility screen... and i cant get into the phone to try to rerun the utility again??? please help!!! is this the proper place to post this?

you have to upgrade radio with sprint new rom first. you must not read the first post before you did tflashed.

es as he said put yourself into manual bootloader by pressing and holding the camera button and power button while soft resetting with the stylus.... than plug your usb into your computer than the phone..... the serial on the botton should change to usb.... when it does run the exe file for the stock sprint rom in this post...... than flash back to this custom rom.... please follow the instructions in the post and also read the flash guide in my signature.... and one last thing please search before posting because this has been discussed before.

this update removed the ability to switch to a roam only. the remaining settings are auto and sprint only. is there anyway to put this back??? i read some forums at ppc geeks and someone said it is possible by editing the registery? i dont feel comfortable messing with that "if its possible"... can anyone wrap it into a cab? sorry bout that last post dash i tried a search and didnt find it... im blind... it works now except for this small detail.
