HTC Blackdrop (m!k3(20)PR) edition
 

i see that a lot of pple are interested in htc blackdrop due to its stylish looks, reflected icons, memory saver and easy to use, productive interface

ive taken s2w's genious theme and added a twist to it to be able to switch between icons in htc home so you have all its functions available and also remapped the center icons to whatever i choose.....

you need... rltoday, htc home, ultimate launch, hhc customizer, total commander, remove bottom bar.exe

instructions....

-place the htc blackdrop folder in program files/rltoday and set it as your theme
-go to settings/today/htc home and disable the home tab and move the weather tab to the top
-set the image attached as your background (the buttons DO work)
-in your today settings, only have rltoday and ultimate launch checked (in that order)
-in HHC download the transparent background, MSNBC weather icons, square grey icons, apply and save
-go to UL settings and make a new tab with htc home plugin (i deleted the rest but you can keep them if you like) set the fixed plugin height to 150, and header height to 1 pixel, save and exit
-copy the "remove bottom bar.exe" to the startup fiolder and soft reset

- (optional) use total commander and go to program files/rltoday there is a file called "skin" where you edit the maps to the center icons, map them to whatever program you like (the center icon text is somewhere below the middle of the text (file explorer, programs, internet, media player, Ultimate Launch) those are the icons you must remap

yo homeboy i did all as said but still cannot get the htc home icons on the bottom bar! need help buddy. also i tried to use total commander to re map the skin but im no pro with total commander!

if you did everything in the readme, you would have disabled all the other tabs in htc home therefore no buttons would appear... do you have all the tabs selected in HHC? or weather only.. g'luck

Everything installed fine and i got it working. Thanks. I'll try it out for a little bit. seems pretty sexy and functional.

1 thing: As someone mentioned in the original blackdrop thread My HTC programs button in the blackdrop theme BG . The whole "not signed with a trusted Certificate" thing. Do we need an app called HTC programs or something that thaty button is trying to access?

Note: The UL button did the same thing before i re-installed UL ( i wiped it out before starting).

i'm thinkin my preference is going to be UL fixed plugin height of the whole screen & just combine the first tab as rltoday & UL, that way the whole screen has different sides of the cube rather then just the bottom half/third. also weather panel is a much nicer addition rather then HTC home weather which is pretty basic..

i havent done this yet, but i think its going to be my preference over the layout described in readme

I couldn't get RLtoday to actually work WITHIN UL. If you get it to work, let us know how. Neat idea, but some today plugins don't like working in UL it seems for some reason....

your not pickin up what im puttin down! everything is the way it is supposed to be, but if you notice on mikes screen and on the original thread at ppc under there weather tab they have the four icons from the htc home plug for contacts and music. how do i get that intiated. sorry if i was confusing!

Those buttons are part of HTC home. You remove the HOME checkbox from the regular settings/today/htc home tab, and then you need HHC to get the square gray icons, and viola. Its all part of HTC home.

you need to copy the .exe attached to the windows/startup folder and soft reset to remove the bottom tray, and also set the fixed plugin height in UL to 150 to get the icons to display properly

OK, I assume you have both htc home and HHC HTC home customizer, correct? Before you load your UL into yout today plugins, go to HHC customizer, go to downloads page, and get the gray square icons (I think that's what they're called....see 1st post to be sure) and MSNBC weather icons.

Use those icons in the appearence tab of HHC. Now go load UL into yout today page from settings with HTC home as a tab. If you did the remove bottom bar.exe hack correctly, you should have no soft keys anymore, and these icons from HTC home happen to fall right in the bottom of your screen when installed like the author instructed.

If that doesn't make sense, I'm at a loss as to tell you how to do it.

OK I see what my problem is... When I go to HHC and change the icon for BG... Colck... Icons... and Weather I get an error message....


An Error occured copying your selected icons. The program will now continue....



What in tha world is that... and how can I fix it???

ok guys i've set it up how i wanted.. i really like the way its setup.. i'm not convinced this way is better.. when you have UL full screened (290 pixels + start menu bar) & rotate to the next tab it shows the blackdrop jpeg which has un-usable buttons on the other tabs where RLtoday isn't..

included is my screenshot, honestly the weatherpanel takes the cake vs the HTC Home weather.. pretty slick lookin if i do say so myself.. props to mike20pr..

You have to do your HHC customizer changes after unselecting UL in start/settings/Home/items... Uncheck UL. Run HHC, make your changes, go back to start/settings/Home/items, uncheck HTC home, re-check UL. All good.... its a bug with UL and HHC/HTC home playing nice with eachother.

Looks good. Weatherpanel is kind of big though, and you do lose those HTC home buttons this way. And yeah, when you spin the whole page, you lose those mid button's functionality... Nice idea though... something to build on later too...
