Reset loop after flash
 

I flashed to the 6.1 rom, unlocked it, then flashed to kaos take 3 rom... but after it boots up it resets after the alignment screen. I was reading GarrinChilders same topic thread, but I'm still not sure on what to do to fix it. The bootloader is SPL-1.20 Olipro, and from what I read that is the problem. I have the unlocker from D/\sh's tutorial now, but how do I go about it now? Thanks!

If you can get to the bootloader, I think you can still put the right unlocker on. Hold camera and power, then push reset button and see if you can get to the rainbow screen.

I'm at the bootloader right now (1.20). I just don't want to do anything else right now until there's a sure way.

ok what you wantto do is flash over to the stock rom from bootloader mode by doing the holding of the start and camera button while soft resetting. than once you do that flash over to a STOCK rom. than once you flash to a stock rom you i want you to unlock with the right unlocker that you got from my tutorial than flash the take 3 rom again an you will be golden.

Ok, so just to be extra sure... from the bootloader 1.20 screen at which I am now, I hold the power and camera button then soft reset. after that I flash to the STOCK rom (3.35 or 3.56??). Then unlock to the 2.40 bootloader from your tutorial, and finally flash the take 3 rom again.

Sorry to ask, but after reading blazingfate's thread, I want to be absolutely sure... there is no need to relock anywhere in the steps?

nope no need to unlock since you wont be running the stock rom....... just as you said and you will be golden..... and tell us how it goes when you get done with the flashing.

While it was flashing, the progress bar got to 11% and then stopped for a while and my phone reset back to the bootloader. The RUU said error code 290 and gives me a choice for recovery. What's the problem?

I thought the phone had to be locked to flash a stock rom. Here's the same problem you discussed with blazingfate https://www.wckediden.com/showthread...tloader&page=5

it has been known to do that on a stock rom... follow the recovery with taking ther battery out and yada yada yah....... thjan reflash and you should flash without troubles.... and yes it has to be locked.

I'm trying to avoid bricking by all means so bare with me please. I did the recovery and its at the 1.20 bootloader. So then I'm supposed to run the relocker at the bootloader, then after that I flash the stock 3.56 rom. After that its back to square one.

I was reading an old post about the relocker at ppcgeeks and it said "DO NOT USE THE RELOCKER FOR ANYTHING RELATED TO GPS ROMS, OR REVERTING BACK AFTER GPS UPDATE."Does this hold true considering I flashed 3.56 before kaos take 3?

yes becasue 3.56 is a gps rom i wouldnt do it bro..... what are you trying to flash to though??? if your flashing to a stock rom and are going to stay there flash to the newest or a gps rom which would be 3.35 and above and you wil be fine... jsut dont go back down to 2.17 or lower otherwise you can brick your device.

ultimately I'm trying to get kaos take 3 on my phone. as of right now, i flashed to 3.56 then kaos take 3 but keeps resetting because of the 1.20 bootloader i unlocked with... I'm trying to flash the stock 3.56 like you said, but it keeps stalling out and resetting after 11%.

you were helping blazingfate in march with the same problem it seems. you told him to flash an old rom (colonel's) since he had an old 1.20 bootloader. From there you said to relock the phone, then flash back to the stock rom. Then unlock with the new bootloader and flash the desired custom rom.

So... is that still the way to go or what? And if so, what relocker do i use since i can't use that one due to it being a gps rom.

ok !! Flash to the orpliro unlocker 2.40. then flash to take 2 Then flash to take 3. Follow the directions in the TAKE 3 THREAD!

ok from the 1.20 bootloader screen I try to flash the 2.40 unlocker but it says "no device connected, would you like to try copying again?"

thats because to unlcok you have to be at thwe main screen thus why i told you to go into manual bootloader and than flash stock than unlock with 2.40 unlocker and than to the kaos rom....... if you dont want to do it my way which will work than dont but im not going to repeat myself again... im not trying to sound like a dick but i already told you the way to fix what you did.... take it or leave it.

Maybe you took me the wrong way, but I'm not trying to find my own fix.. I'm just trying to get my phone working. The way you told me isn't working so I was referring to old threads where you helped out for the same problem.

I'm in manual bootloader (1.20) by pressing power+camera then reset. I try to flash the stock rom (both 3.35 and 3.56), but after multiple times for each rom, it just resets after 11%. You said it is a known issue, so do I just keep on doing it until it works or what?

Also you said it has to be locked, but my phone is unlocked right now. So basically I'm just confused after reaching dead ends. :Flush:

bro listen this is the last time im going to say this it does work!!!!!!!! it wont hang at 11% forever dont unplug it jsut let it sit than it will pass it..... and the unlocking doesnt matter becasue as i already said you wont be staying on stock you only relock if you are staying there....

the problem is you have an old bootloader!!!look in his quote dash 1.20 is his bootloader! you need 2.40 the new one!!! thats your problem homeboy!

basic knowledge stock = lock phone
custom roms = unlocked you cant flash cause those are stock you gotta relock for those...oh and 1.20 is to old for those so if you relock then upgrade spl to newest stock i believe 240 was newest stock.

When it is updating, it doesn't hang at 11% forever. It really just resets back to the bootloader screen. Then on the RUU on the computer it comes up an error and wants me to do recovery :triste:

you shouldnt get the restore error every single tiem unless you are doing something wrong...... have you tried to manually place the phone in bootloader flash the radio from the second post in the kaos take 3 rom thread and than letting the phone bootup and than flashing over with the unlocker.

Ok I got help from other forums and now my phone is finally good to go!

1. flashed to stock sprint 2.17 rom
2. unlocked with olipro 2.40 bootloader
3. flashed to stock sprint 3.56 rom
4. flashed to kaos take 3

So i guess the missing link was to flash to an older 2.17 stock rom. Thanks everyone for the help.

On a side note, how do I get my today screen to look like the diamond like in the kaos take 3 video?

Apps. In the case of that video, search for Throttle Launcher with the Diamond Theme.
