HTC MOGUL SUDS (Suddenly USB Device not Syncing)
 

Ok so I've been a fan of all of the work done here at www.wckediden.com, and I've run into the worst problem of all. I have been able to sync my outlook email to my Mogul in the past with no issues. Well recently I've been experiencing Activesync issues. First I would get an error code 85010017 about a sync error. I went to the phone, went to settings, connections, usb to pc, and unchecked the box as I am supposed to. Now it worked this way for one day, and then my MOGUL wouldn't come up recognized by my PC.

The computer doesn't see the USB connection at all. Not in Device Manager, not in Activesync, NOTHING!!! It's pissing me off and I need help on the situation.

The phone charges pretty well, I even got an extended battery for 15 bucks cuz I like this phone. When it plugs into the computer, it charges the phone, but doesn't pick up on my computer as a hard drive, usb device, mobile device, nothing.

I also used this program called USBDEVIEW, that shows you how to rollback any and all USB device history that has ever been used on your computer. This is a great tool maybe someone will look it up. I NEED HELP SOMEONE PLEASE.

I can bet if you try a different usb cable it will work! Also, make sure you use the splitter that can with the phone in the box! I had the same issue and it was the cable!

Man I got 25 USB cables.....some to charge PS3 controllers, some for connecting hard drives, hell I even got one to charge my mouse. None of them shits work, but I haven't tried those other cables that came in the box. I used them once but I don't get why these other cords won't work. Guess I'll try it once I get back to BMORE thanks man.

not the cords but the splitter! the phone has a different connector then a reg usb. If you look closley at the splitter you will see what i am saying. try and find the Splitter iTS good to use the splittter! If not you will kill/destroy the pins inside the phone and somewhere down the line the phone will not charge!

only other ideas i have other than jews would be to check and make sure your firewalls arent blocking activesync and to go to the taskbar and mright click than go to settings and make sure the usb connections box is checked and allowing them.

id hate to say it...but i just had same issue. but i determined it was my pins. phone would charge fine still does...but when connected says device malfunctioned. upon further searching with a magnifying glass.I have found my pins are a mess. only answer for me was to order insurance replacement.
