Mogul screen not responding to touch?????
 

Alright, woke up this morning and my screen isn't responding to touch. It worked when I went to bed, not so much when I woke up.

I've soft reset several times, no improvement.

I'm having to use the hard buttons and that gives me limited access of course.

Help???

Sounds like you might need to try a hard reset. If it doesn't work after that, may be time to get a new one.

you need to hard reset if it still doesnt work if you have insurance take it in to a tech. if you dont have insurance buy a screen somewhere and replace the LCD screen.

I guess this would be the opportune time to upgrade ROMs.....I have KAOS Take 2 now....just need to decide on KAOS Take 3 or BJ's ROM...hmmm....

Hard reset done....now I'm stuck on the "Tap the screen to set up your window mobile-based device".....and the screen isn't responsive....i'm screwed....

Why would u get such an expensive phone with no contract? I guess u have to do what venumx said, buy an lcd screen for moguls online like ebay or sumtin and try changin it urself or I think sprint will charge u so they can fix it

yeah if you bring it to sprint it would be like 129.00 to fix.
but then you could add insurance....
which you should have done in the first place.

Just dropped it off. They said on the phone it would be $99, then when I dropped it off they said $55. Crossing my fingers and hoping for the $55....they should be calling any moment.....

They said the phone was bricked.....and are swapping for a new (probably refurb) phone. That's weird, it's been working just fine and all of a sudden it bricks while I'm sleeping?? The guy was telling me it was because I put a hacked version of windows on it....I basically told him that he was full of shit.

naw it wont brick overnight i bet he tried to flash or couldnt fix it and he realized he couldnt so he said that.... tell him you want to see the device.... by law he has to let you see the device and if it boots and doenst show just a white screen you arent bricked and you cna call him out on that.

whoa a tech that actually knows what a rom is...weird. oh wait he said its a hacked version of windows...which its not.

if they are swapping it for another it doesnt matter.

i would just tell them that if they want you can put it back to normal but its not worth your time or theres to take another look at it when you come back. thats if they dont swap it.

Ya, he said that he put a new screen in and had the same problem. He said it was a hacked unauthorized version of windows and that's why it bricked. I told him that wasn't the case. He didn't argue with me too long and offered the refurb for $55....which was the same price he quoted for installing the new screen. I took it and am installing take 3 hybrid now....

did u get the insurance on this one? for a replacement for 55.00 is cheap even for a refurb, i work at at&t and i know we won't do that, especailly with a smartphone.

no, I didn't have the insurance....I do now.

Find some one who has a sprint mogul + ins and get them to make a claim for their insurance through assurian. When they get it give them 50 bucks plus some for the help... Have them send yours back instead and bam new phone. Course you would have to be a cheap skate and not care about the rules to go this route. But im jewish so no prob there thats what i would do. Since all my bros have the same phone... Or just wait 2 weeks for the diamond.

this happend to me on my touch but instead of the touch SCREEN not working my green, red, and camera buttons stopped working!!!

did you do a hard reset? after installing alot of apps and especially uninstalling you will need to do a hard reset..... but be careful it erases all data on the phone.
