Version 5.3 - Aug 14, 2008:
- Added a new 5-day forecast layout that you can now chose from in step 8b
- Added single day and 5-day forecast layouts specifically designed for use in ThrottleLauncher. Choose "Manila-TL.wpl" or "Manila-TL-5day.wpl" in step 8b when installing.

Notes on 5 day forecast:
- The 5 day forecast skin requires more space on your screen. The 5-day layout is 236 pixels tall to fit everything If it is too large to fit on your today screen you can adjust its height. Look under the FAQ section below for instructions.
- Make sure you install the "Manila WP Icons" folder that is included in this Diamond WP Theme v5.3 zip file. This directory includes the "SMALL" icons which are needed for the 5 day forecast tab. This also include the "MOON" icons that were missed in the last release.
- For those that want the 5 day forecast icons to be animated, you can find some for download at http://www.marsware.net/WeatherPanel/skins.htm . Simply download the "Regular" size animated icon set you want and place the png and wpa files in the "Manila WP Icons\SMALL" directory...overwriting the small static images included with my theme release. The Stardock Animated set at the bottom work particularily well with this theme! The 5-day forecast image above is using the Stardock Animated images

Special note for ThrottleLauncher Users:
- ThrottleLauncher is unable to correctly draw and refresh pop-up windows generated by WeatherPanel. To work around this issue I have included two new themes that are specifically designed for use with ThrottleLauncher (the theme layouts with -TL in their name). One important instruction to note when using these TL layouts is that any time you open up a pop-up window (such as Radars, Graphs, etc) that is full screen, there is no longer an "OK" button to push to close the window. To close these windows you will need to click on the City name at the top of the screen. This will return you to the today desktop screen. One bug that exists in ThrottleLauncher is that when you close one of these full screen pages, ThrottleLauncher will not immediately redraw the icon tab/footer along the bottom. It will refresh once you click down there.

Note: if you are updating just perform steps 1, 2, 8 and 10. There is no need to redownload the animated icon sets

Description

Here's my first attempt at releasing a theme for Marsware WeatherPanel (http://www.marsware.net/WeatherPanel/main.htm). I tried to make it look as close as possible to the HTC Diamond's weather application. Tapping on the centre of the screen will bring up the detailed weather report as well as control buttons to gain access to Setup, Update, Radar Images, 6-Day Forecast, and Charts. Tapping on the centre again will return to the simple Diamond weather screen.

To install:

First of all, make sure you've installed Marsware WeatherPanel 2.5 (http://pixel.citadel.org/weatherpane...c2cfeb2f41a18b).

1. Download and extract the latest version of "Diamond WeatherPanel Theme" file. Link provided at beginning of post.

2. Copy "Manila" folder into your WeatherPanel\Themes folder on PPC

3. Copy the two font files into Windows\fonts folder of PPC

4. If you want the diamond background, use the included Diamond.tsk today theme

5. Download one of the Diamond WeatherPanel LARGE icon sets. The icon sets available are;

"Looped Animated Icon Set" (http://asapload.com/140647)- Trial version of animated weather icons that will play the animation, pause for 2-3 seconds and then repeat
"Static Icon Set" (http://asapload.com/138366)- No animations...just the basic static weather images based off of the new graphics.

6. Extract the icon set you downloaded in step 5.

7. a) If you have WeatherPanel installed on your device's main memory, you'll need to place the icons on your storage card since they are too large to go in the device's main memory. Copy "Manila WP Icons" folder into the root of your PPC storage card. Path should be "\Storage Card\Manila WP Icons"

OR

b) If you have WeatherPanel installed on your Storage Card, simply copy the the "Manila WP Icons" folder into your weatherpanel icons folder.

8. In WeatherPanel options;
a) set Theme="Manila"
b) set Layout="Manila.wpl", "Manila-5day.wpl", "Manila-TL.wpl", or "Manila-TL-5day.wpl"
c) select "Update Time"
d) clear "Don't Display Arrows"
e) if you performed step 7a then set Icon Set="Default", otherwise set Icon Set to "Manila WP Icons"

9. If you performed step 7a then edit your PPC registry and change "HKCU\Software\Marsware\WeatherPanel\weatherIc onPa th" value to "\Storage Card\Manila WP Icons" (NOTE: This step will have to be repeated if you ever go in to the WeatherPanel options tab and change the settings)

10. The Diamond WeatherPanel Theme zip file now includes a "Manila WP Icons" folder. Copy this to the same location as the full icon set downloaded above in step 7. Overwrite any existing files. The zip file does NOT, however, include any LARGE icons. These are downloaded and installed separately. See step 5.

11. Soft-Reset your PPC
